Ser det ryktes at Swansea vil ha Naughton. Selg ffs er min tanke. Er så lei Naughton.

Mirrors: 6 ting du må vite om Dier

Robin flew his nest
Originally born in Cheltenham, Dier moved to Portugal when he was just 10 years of age because his mother had a job in catering with the Euro 2004 campaign.
At the same age, Dier’s PE teacher spotted his talent and alerted the Sporting scouts who, in turn, snapped him up to join their highly rated Academia Sporting.
Sporting behavior
In his youth the decision was made that Eric would stay and live in Sporting’s youth academy after his mother moved back to England.
At 17 he had a season long loan at Everton but failed to make a breakthrough into the first team, something he did the following season at Sporting due to their long list of injuries and didn't look back.
Three Lions
The plaudits started to realise his potential after playing well in his debut against Braga he chipped in with an assist before scoring his first goal in the following fixture.
In terms of international loyalty, Eric has rejected the approach of the Portuguese FA and was later called up to play as part of England’s youth teams, going on to represent every junior level.
Family Genes
Sport or the direct involvement of sport runs strongly in Eric Dier’s Family.
He is the grandson of former Football Association secretary and Cheltenham Town president Ted Croker. Ted Croker’s brother Peter, like Dier, also played professional football and won the FA Cup with Charlton.
Dier’s father was also a professional tennis player in his youth.
He’s got style
He’s English, 6ft 2, plays centre back and enjoys a crunching tackle… and with that prepare yourself for the inevitable, obvious and lazy comparisons to former England captain John Terry.
Although Dier does possess some of the same qualities as a young John Terry, he’s far more than that. Growing up and playing through Sporting’s acadamey has left Dier a stylish, cultured ball-playing defender.
Having possession football drilled into him from his youth, he has the ability to pick a pass or glide past the opposition like a central midfielder, so much so he’s been deployed in the holding ‘Makelele’ role before.
Time to step up…
Having only made 30 appearances in Sporting’s first team is Eric Dier ready to step up and compete against the Premier League’s finest?
Spoiler… probably.
Dier has previously said that adjusting to life at Everton took him a good six months, Portugal is his home and English culture is a difficult transition so home life may take some a little longer.
Having said that, he’s already held his own against the likes of James Rodriguez, Nemanja Matic, Fernando and Garay in the Primiera Liga so in pure footballing terms, you’d fancy his chances.

Ser Huddlestone hadde en noe uheldig dag på jobben i går.
