Oppseting av nettverk med wireless range extender

Jeg har blitt lei av å sitte i gangen på hybelen for å komme på nettet, så jeg har fått tak i en wireless range extender (D-Link G710). (routeren er forøvrig en SMC, typen aner jeg ikke)

 

Men her stopper det. slik jeg har forstått det skal extenderen kobles til en pc, så skal jeg taste inn de magiske tallene som står i manualen, men jeg kommer ikke videre.

HOME - Setup Wizard

The Setup Wizard will guide you through a step-by-step process to get your new DWL-G710 configured to your network.

 

There are 4 steps to the Setup Wizard:

 

1. Change your Admin Password : In this step; you can change your DWL-G710 admin password. This is highly recommended to keep your wireless network secure. There is NO password configured by default.

 

2. Connect to your Wireless Network : In this step; you will configure the wireless network that you want the DWL-G710 to extend. There are 2 options for connecting to your wireless router or access point - you can manually type in the SSID wireless network or use the Site Survey tool to locate and auto-configure the SSID setting. The default SSID is [default]

 

3. Configure your Wireless Security : Use this step to configure the wireless security so you can connect to your network. The DWL-G710 currently only supports repeating a wireless signal that is secured with WEP. If your wireless network is using WPA then you will need to reconfigure your network for either 64-bit or 128-bit WEP only.

 

4. Setup Completed : Click on restart to apply charges and restart the DWL-G710. Click on exit to ignore charges and exit the wizard.
