Gjorde nettopp en Debian nettinstallering, men kommer ikke inn i X.

Ved startx får jeg meldinga:

Siden ting funka med Libranet, så reinstallerte jeg Libranet, kopierte XF86Config-4, kjørte ny nettinstallering, og prøvde med Libranets XF86Config-4. men uten at dette hjalp.

Jeg fikk også en melding om bug i kernel 2.4.20, ved installering av X, uten at jeg, desverre, finleste denne meldingen.

Er det en ide å installere kernel 2.4.19, som Libranet bruker?

Takk, men xf86config gir akkurat samme feil som min gamle Libranet konfigurasjon(som altså funker med Libranet). Aner at det ikke ligger i konfigurasjonen.

Det er nok ikke helt riktig. Du kan legge til uoffisielle apt-kilder i sources.list. Enkelte kilder er veldig greie; XFree86 4.3, KDE 3.1, osv.

Vel, de som har Geforce 4 og nyere, kan ikke bruke XFree86 <= 4.2. Det er derfor litt dumt at stable ikke har X nyere enn 4.1, menmen. Hvis man absolutt vil kjøre stable, er jo NVIDIA sine egne drivere løsningen.
