SMART forteller meg at min systemdisk har 80 "errors"

 

Loggen forteller meg ingenting, noen som kan hjelpe meg her?

 

Er det på tide å bytte? Disken funker bra selv om den er noen år gammel.

Siden feilmeldingene nevner ICRC (=Interface CRC), så vil jeg i første omgang foreslå at du sjekker kablene. Dobbelsjekk at de sitter fast i begge ender, prøv gjerne med en annen kabel, og pass på at den ikke ligger i nærheten av noe som kan forstyrre signalene.

 

Loggen inneholder ingen graverende feil av typen ødelagte sektorer e.l. Det mest alvorlige er SMART-attributt #1, Raw Read Error Rate, som indikerer at disken må jobbe litt ekstra for å lese platen. Men det er vel ikke annet å vente når disken har kjørt i over 14000 timer - verdien ligger foreløpig godt innenfor den verdien som produsenten oppgir som kritisk.

 

Står det noe i /var/log/messages som tyder på noen problemer?

Selv bruker jeg ikke standby-funksjon, så jeg er ikke sikker på hva slags utslag det gir i loggen, men det er ikke usannsynlig at meldingene i loggen dreier seg om det. Du kan jo sjekke SMART-verdiene til den disken også for å være sikker.

 

Hvis det ikke nevnes noe om den første disken i loggfilen, så vil jeg tippe at du ikke har noen akutte problemer, men sjekk kablene om du ikke har gjort det.

 

Les forøvrig av SMART-verdiene en gang i blant (eller sett på automatisk e-postvarsling), ta jevnlig backup av viktige filer og sov godt i natt også.
