Greenwich (CT) – One of the original “KITT” cars used in Knight Rider is being sold on eBay, but response so far has been lukewarm. The black 1984 Pontiac Trans Am, famous for talking and flashing an ominous red light, has a current bid of $35,100 which is below the seller’s reserve price. The former owner is murdered real estate developer Andrew Kissel and the car is being sold to satisfy Kissel’s debts.

 

Some people, like the administrator of Kissel’s estate, are surprised at the low bids. Attorney Patrick R. Gil told the Associated Press that he expected fans of the popular 80s show to “jump on it”. The car is one of the four original cars used in the show. Back in July, another KITT car sold for approximately $100,000.

 

Kissel purchased the car back in 2005 for $69,000 and according to the auction the car only has 5000 miles on it. The auction ends on December 23rd at 1:21 PM PST. You can view the auction here.
