The book "Holes" by Louis Sachar is about a boy who is sent to a camp for troubled children .(he had a choice to either go to this camp or to prison)boys task for each day is to dig a hole every day. Stanley, the hero of the story, finds a new friend who’s name is Zero. Zero is a quiet black boy. Stanley is an overweight awkward child. There was a curse on his no- good-dirty-rotten-pig stealing-great-great-grand-father. Stanley has to go to a bootcamp called Camp Green Lake, because he is suspected to have stolen the sneakers from a famous baseball player called Clyde Livingston. But Stanley is innocent! I going to tell about the day “when” he stolen the sneakers (shoe): One day when Stanley goes home from school where he was bullied again, he stealing a pair of shoes donated by basketball great Clyde "Sweetfeet" Livingston to a celebrity auction and police arrest him. In court, the judge doesn't believe Stanley's claim that the shoes fell from the sky onto his head. In this Camp they all have to dig a hole every day. At the Camp Green Lake, the warden (who is the leader) makes the boys build character by spendig all day, evere day, digging holes. It doesen’t take long or Stanley to realize there’s more than charackter improvement going on at the Camp Green Lake. The boys are digging holse because the warden is searching for someting, and before Stanley begins his own search, to find what warden is searching after. Stan meets a guy called Zero in Camp Green Lake. He starts teaching Zero to write an to read, therefore Zero digs Stanley's hole, because Zero is such a fast digger. But one day Zero is provoked by one of the counselers. Zero hits him with his shovel and runs into the desert. A few days later Stanley follws him. They have no idea that the female warden is looking for a treasure. They help each other to survive in the desert and some days later they come back secretly. In an old hole they dug weeks ago they find the treasure the warden has been looking for all the time. Suddenly a woman comes together with guards and the warden to realease Stan because the judge found out that Stanley really is innnocent. The lake was close and the Warden, Ms.walker, was forced to sell her familys land. The camp will soon be like a Girs camp. Stanley and Hektor (Zero) received alomst a million dollars from these fins, the Kate Barlow treasure.(Jewels and other valuable things.) Lenke til kommentar
