Har satt opp brannmur pa Debian maskinen min.

 

Den er inni et lite skap. Men temp ser greie ut:

Den virker helt fint, men bare i 2 dager. Sa klikker den/laser seg. Hvilken logfil skal jeg sjekke ut?

Kan være tricky å finne ut av (du må jo vente et par dager for å reprodusere problemet). Jeg ville vel aller først kjørt en mem-check, råtten ram er hyppigste synder. Jeg antar naturligvis at det er Etch evt. Sarge du kjører. Dernest er råtne drivere til hardware neste punkt, burde kunne sjekkes ved litt googling. Sjekk dmesg:

Hvis ingen av disse gir deg noe, så ville jeg begynt å prøve å isolere applikasjoner. Det meste kan man jo slå av, kjernen kan du jo skifte ut en periode. Kan være at du er rammet av en bug, men dette er jo svært sjelden i Debian stable.

Det eneste tegnet jeg så der var at filsystemet så ut til å ha hatt en hard reboot, så den krasjet vel før du bootet nå?

 

Har du sjekket minnet?

 

Dersom du også har gjort noen kontrollrunder på drivere, eller kanskje du allerede mistenker en applikasjoner, så kan strace være et kraftig verktøy for å følge en applikasjon frem mot en krasj:

Altsa:

Installerte Debian -> alt virket fint -> oppdaterte alt -> 2 dager senere klikker det -> rebooter -> 2 dager senere klikker det ->

na stopper bare internett a virke, sa at maskinen fremdeles kunne sla pa/av numlock, men finner ikke ut a fa det til a virke igjen -> reboot

 

 

 

 

der har datamaskinen statt uten gdm i 1 dag.

OK, da høres det ut som problemet er rimelig godt isolert (for du kjørte vel mem-test?). Her har du en tråd hvor enkelte andre har hatt samme problem, og det ser ut til at alle fikk løst det på litt forskjellig vis:

Dersom du ønsker å isolere feilen ytterligere kan du jo sjekke ut hvilken IDE kontroller som sitter på hovedkortet ditt:

$ lspci

og google litt etter om noen har opplevd problemer med den. Dersom det er driverproblem, så burde du finne det da.

Dersom du har en helt lik disk kan du klone den slik (funker også om target-disken er litt større, men du må resize partisjoner etc etterpå) :

dd if=/dev/hda of=/dev/hdb

 

Der /dev/hda er disken du skal kopiere, og /dev/hdb er disken du kopierer til.

 

Edit: Dette bør du gjøre mens disken er unmounta, evt. gjøre det fra en livecd e.l om det er root-filsystemet du skal kopiere.
