Hjelp, feil i boot menyen!

altså, jeg har en harddisk på 250gb som jeg har delt opp i to partisjoner jeg har windows xp på den ene og windows vista på den andre. Hver gang jeg slår på manskinen bruker jeg å få et valg om hvilket operativ system jeg skal bruke. Men idag da jeg slo på pcen kom det ikke noe meny og windows xp bootet opp med en gang uten noen spørsmål om noe annet, jeg bruker til vanlig Vista når jeg er på pcen..

Her skal det væe noen valg. Men forsiktig!!

ja jeg sjekket der i boot.ini men jeg så ikke noen vista ... skal prøve å se litt på den siden din:D takker

 

ok, edit: se hva det sto i boot.ini fila mi da...

Finner ikke den der BCDEDIT.exe fila..

boot.ini brukes av XP, men ikke av Vista. Sjekk med BCDEdit.

Da må du legge den til vil jeg tro. Ellers får du ikke valg om OS. Husk å ikke sette timeouten for lav, ellers rekker du ikke velge OS før default os starter.

 

hårek. Det stemmer sikkert. Er ikke flink på vista. Men om bare XP starter så er det den boot.ini filen som må redigeres vil jeg tro for at 2 OS skal kunne velges.

Fant fila, jeg søkte etter den, men det funker ikke å åpne den, den forsvinner etter 1 sec

OK, nå prøvde jeg noe som det sto på det forumet... adde enda et alternativ på bootlista: multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(3)\WINDOWS="Windows XP dummy file".. d funka, dårlig akkurat samme resultat. Jeg tror jeg skal prøve å ta bort hele windows xp fra den lista å se hva som skjer... Skal selvfølgelig lagre det som stod der

Answer:

Users who have a corrupt or missing boot.ini file, are running Microsoft Windows XP, and have a Microsoft Windows XP CD can rebuild the systems boot.ini file by following the below steps.

 

Insert the Microsoft Windows XP CD into the computer. Note: If you have a system recovery CD or restore CD these steps will likely not work for your computer.

Reboot the computer with the CD and press any key when prompted to press any key to boot from the CD. If you do not receive this prompt and/or are not able to boot from the CD see document CH000217.

Once in the Microsoft Setup menu press R to open the recovery console.

Select the operating system you wish to use; if you only have Windows XP on the computer you will only have one prompt.

Once prompted for the password enter the Admin password and press enter.

Once at the command prompt type bootcfg /rebuild to start the rebuild process.

The rebuild process will step you through a number of steps depending upon how many operating systems you have on the computer and how the computer is setup. Below is a listing of the common steps you are likely going to encounter.

 

* Prompt for the identified versions of Windows installed. When you receive this prompt press Y if the bootcfg command properly identified each of the Windows operating systems installed on the computer. It is important to realize this command will only detect Windows XP, Windows 2000, and Windows NT installations.

 

* Prompt to enter the load identifier. This is the name of the operating system for the boot.ini. For example, Microsoft Windows XP Home users would enter "Microsoft Windows XP Home edition".

 

* Prompt to Enter OS load options. When this prompt is received type /fastdetect to automatically detect the available options.

 

 

Once you have completed all the available options in the rebuild and are back at the prompt type exit to reboot the computer.

Takk gud for det siste du skrev der, maskina boota ikke og jeg hadde en windows cd på lur tror det er en feil på C partisjonen fordi hver gang jeg restarter maskinen og starter den opp så kommer det sånn feilsøking på partisjon C, noe jeg gjorde tidligere på dagen var å installere noen oppdateriger i Vista men jeg restarta etterpå og det var helt fint

Regner med at du må boote fra vista plata for å ordne opp i feilen med vista eller boot lista da.

Men jeg har ikke peiling på vista, men det kommer sikkert noen på forumet utover dagen som kan hjelpe

Tutorial Summary: We're going to use the DISKPART utility on the Vista DVD to shrink the Windows XP partition on the hard disk and create enough space for an installation of Vista. We'll then install Vista and use the EasyBCD utility to modify Vista's bootloader to get XP loading properly.

 

This is an updated tutorial,based on our first Windows XP/Vista dual-booting workshop. The main difference is that we're covering using both the latest version of GParted and DISKPART to shrink the Windows XP partition.

 

DISKPART can shrink NTFS partitions and it's certainly the more convenient option, but on some systems using DISKPART to shrink the volume will fail, with an vague "Access is denied" error.

 

This may have something to do with different disk controllers, as this was a problem on the AcerPower test system which has a SATA hard drive, but not on the VMWare system which uses a virtual IDE controller. So we'll cover both processes

 

EasyBCD has also been updated since the first tutorial was written.

 

This tutorial was tested on a VMWare Workstation 6 virtual machine and an AcerPower SK50.
