Yeah tell me about it. Didnt even think about it as when I check komplett they had 1 diamondmax 10 160gb so I just ordered it. (thats where I ordered the original drive from) Thats why it didnt register at all. My fault I know.....

On the upside there is still hope. I know that the motor isnt blown so now I just need to find the correct drive. Found one in Denmark for 600dkk so I think that I may just order it.

 

Sorry once again for the time wasting. Trust me I am very embarassed and completly f**ked off with myself...... *slaps himself*

Im not giving up mate. Just frustrated at myself right now. Problem is finding one. Can I justify buying another hard drive in the hope it may work. Especially from another country where I have to pay moms to get it into norway.

Cant find any 6B200M0 in norway but loads of 6L200M0. Think that the 6L200M0 will work? Perhaps its just the circuit board that has been updated and will still work with the rest?

To be honest, I wanna throw the disk in the bin. But with all the family pictures and stuff I think even a small chance is worth while. Plus Im getting all these extra hard drives, and lets face it, you cant have too much space for BACKING UP YOUR FILES!

Thinking the same thing. However Ive sent a few pm's to people on this forum with hopefully the same drive. Never know, perhaps they will sell it or perhaps those sites which state eta: 26.04.07 may actually get them... Only 2 days to wait.

Just called Komplett and the guy was very helpful. He said perhaps they have one that they are using in there test systems that perhaps he can nick from them and if so he will organise a price.... Nice of him I thought!

Have your tried to contact Maxtor? There is always the odd chance that they can provide you with a list of drives which have the same circuit board your drive has. I would not hold my breath waiting for an answer, but you never know.

 

In the future perhaps we should consider buying our drives in pairs ….

Maxtor have been bought by seagate. Therefore parts and info arent easy to come by. The maxtor site links directly to seagate now.
