Hi.

 

If the PCB is damaged, you must get exact same model, from the same family and same "date period". Beware some discs have firmware and service area data on the pcb, and a pcb replacement will not work...

 

If you need profesional recovery services in Norway, you either go for IBAS or Reconsult. They both have professional labs in Norway. All the others uses partners outside Norway.

Ok mate, thanks alot. Seems like there is little chance I will get exact same model, family or date period. I will still try but seems unlikely now.

HA HA! Yeah trust me, Im going to check about 50 times that the connector is the correct way around.

 

And Ill let you all know how it goes.... If I ever get the new drive. Ordered on 19th and according to posten its still in Stokke..... Every time I order from Komplett I receive the items 2 days later without fail. The one time I need an item urgently, this happens... Typical...

Well, I would contact Komplett first, then i would contakt Posten.

Ask them "What's the holdup?"

 

When you change this, why dont you make a guide? I've seen other people here on this forum that's curious about the same thing. If you are going to change circuit board that is..

Yep time to call Komplett I feel. Cant justify driving to Komplett to the wife for a hard drive though.

 

Concerning the guide, Ill try it and if it works Ill reverse the process and take a few pictures. If I can make it work with my limited technical skills then a blind drunk monkey can.

Go buy yourself a multimeter and check the circuit board. In the off chance that the actual drive is broken, you just saved yourself the price of a new harddrive and you got a nice multimeter instead. You'll need one sooner or later anyway.

Well it arrived this morning so I have changed the circuit boards over and the drive starts spinning. So I attached all the cables and windows starts to boot up but thats it. The loading line keeps moving but it never gets to desktop. So I guess it isnt compatible....

 

Real shame but I think worth trying.

You can also dl' Ultimate boot CD, and try running diagnostics from there...
