Min engelskoppgave om Scotland

Anbefalte innlegg

Scotland

We are going to tell you some things we know and have learned about Scotland.

The story

Scotland is the north part of the island Great Britain. Scotland is much known for its beautiful highland and special traditions and castles.

The capital is Edinburgh which has a great festival knows as Edinburgh festival every year.

Many people think that Scotland is the same as England but it isn’t indeed. Scotland has other rules for school, The Scottish Law and The Scottish Church.

The Scottish language is very special language and many people think it’s funny.

The flag they use is an old flag from the 800’s and is one of the oldest flags in the world.

Scotland is very proud of their country and has many national symbols. For an example: Unicorn, The Royal Scottish Banner and the 30th November which is the national day called .St. Andrew’s day.

William Wallace

William Wallace was a Scottish knight who lived around the 13th

He led his men to resistance against England which tried to take over Scotland. Wallace is maybe the greatest heroes of Scotland. The 23th August 1305 he got captured and hanged, but right before he died he was released. Then they tortured him and then chopped his head of.

It has been made a movie about him, it’s called Braveheart starring Mel Gibson.
