WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2008 revealed

As part of the build up for WWE’s Wrestlemania PPV, THQ is expected to formally announce today the next entry in their popular wrestling game franchise, WWE Smackdown vs. Raw. Just last year we saw their first next-gen offering on display at the very same event, the THQ Superstar Challenge. Right before the announcement kicks off, IGN has managed to squeeze some details from THQ Creative Manager Cory Ledesma.

 

As expected, the upcoming entry is entitled “WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2008″ and THQ have planned its release for a wider array of platforms than the series has previously seen. Ledesma explained that they intend on fixing many elements that the fans and critics harped on last year including the dated animations and AI. One of their immediate goals is to create a more realistic experience by recapturing animations and differentiating fighting styles between wrestlers. This focus should make some strong strides to keep the series stale, Ledesma compares it to the fighting game genre:

 

“It’s almost like a fighting game in a way; if you play Soul Calibur, they have different weapons, different animations and different moves. We’re taking that approach. We want players to have exclusive abilities and tactics that let them play differently based on personal preference and the wrestler they choose.”

 

Along with the retooling of the animations, AI, and fighting styles, THQ expects to implement the ECW arenas, new weapons, a larger roster, more environmental hot-spots, a new struggle submission system, and a combined Season / General Manager mode. Kunne ikke vært mer enig! Å HBK er da forsåvidt en morsom fyr han.. Cena har uannsett hatt det beltet for lenge!

 

Anngående SDvs.R 08, så må jeg si det virker lovende. De siste to generasjonene har hatt en del glitcher og slikt. Så det hadde vært fint om de fokuserte på å glatte ut disse, samt forbedre gameplayet enda mer.

Ingenting som en helaftens in-game, hjemmelaget pay per view med noen kompiser!
