Radeon 9700Pro problem løsning

Some of the veteran members may remember the 8500 launch here and how some driver sets seemed to cause stutter..not sure why it did on certain driver sets I started investigating to see If I could solve it *maybe Opengl guy can enlighten us why this happens...

 

The Story:

 

I presently don't have a 9700 but a 8500, Santa is bringing me one for Xmas. I have a good friend that does have one and has been seeing similar things to what I saw with the 8500 launch...stuttering...Diablo 2 and 3Dmark. So he asked me to check his system, which is a MSI KT333 KT3 ULTRA2...sure enough the same issue that occurred with the 8500 drivers that I discovered over a year ago.

 

The Check:

 

Start

Run

Type "Dxdiag"

 

If you see something like below that is the cause for a alot of headaches...

AGP Texture Acceleration Disabled <--BAD (cause of low 3Dmark scores)

Direct Draw Acceleration Disabled <-- BAD for Direct draw game like Diablo 2

 

 

 

Headaches like....

 

1) Stuttering

2) Poor Peformance

 

His 3Dmark score was 12,900 Athlon Xp 2000 prior to a CPU change and driver change, with latest Cat 2.5 he was stuttering in some games and 11,000 was his score with a new processor Athlon XP 2400 installed yesterday..he then called me and thats when I knew their was a issue.

 

The Solution:

 

Usually involves uninstalling the ATI drivers...and installing the latest Chipset drivers.

 

1) Some people have had to uninstall the ATI drivers 1st

2) Some people just installed the latest chipset drivers without removing the ATI drivers

3) Some people have had success by installing the chipset drivers in safe mode.

4)Some had to uninstall all references to video and chipset and then reinstall 4in1 (or Intel) then ATI drivers.

 

The solution for his was, Uninstall the ATI drivers..Install the latest Via Drivers 4.45.

Reboot

Install ATI drivers...now His AGP Texture acclerations is enabled and not greyed out, 3Dmark is now 14,000..stuttering is gone and Diablo 2 works much better with Direct Draw Acceleration enabled.

får vel prove og installe aldt på nytt o(

 

blir defietivt mit siste radeon kort GF rules ..
