acidnite Skrevet 6. mars 2007 Del Skrevet 6. mars 2007 Hi I'm moving to Norway in a few months and just looking for some general info about phone plans etc. I'm looking for a 3G plan and hopefully bundle it together with ADSL2 and VoIP at home. Is there anything people can recommend? Any websites that may help (can be in Norwegian)? Thanks Damian Lenke til kommentar
cyclo Skrevet 6. mars 2007 Del Skrevet 6. mars 2007 (endret) http://www.telepriser.no/ is one place to start. It's an overview of norwegian operators different prices for differnet plans. Unfortunately they don't include GPRS/UMT data costs. But they link to the operators websites, so it's easier to get an overview of whats available. Endret 6. mars 2007 av cyclo Lenke til kommentar
dostojevski Skrevet 11. mars 2007 Del Skrevet 11. mars 2007 As far as I know there's only two providers with at reasonable price-plan for mobile data-trafic. Both Telenor (telenor.no) and NetCom (netcom.no) offers price plans whith either a fixed (and quite high) monthly fee for unlimited data-trafic, or a smaller monthly fee and a max price-pr-day (=newer pay more than NOK X,- for data-trafic for a given date.) Mobile data trafc is generaly quite expensive in Norway. And the UMTS grd is not that good either... As for landlines the market is finaly becomming a bit more mature, and if you live in a town or moderately dencely populatet area you can get xDSL/cable/fibre at an ok price/bandwith ratio. Most ISPs offers VoIP bundles, and a couple even offers IPTV overADSL2+ (nextgentel.no). Be aware that with current price structures most cell phone companies offers much lower rates when calling to cell phones than you get with VoIP. VoIP is generaly a good alternative if you call land line numbers a lot, with several offers for unlimited traffic plans. But to my knowledge no Norwegian VoIP providers offers unlimited traffic plans for calls to cell phones. And in the scandinavian market cell phones now dominates, with a market penetration well above 100%. If you're from USA you should also be aware that domestic calls to cell phones are charged to the caller, not the reciever. I think this is the case in most European countries. Welcome to Norway!
