This is the most accurate and "glass slick" mousing surface achievable from what I have found over the last year. Simply replace the plastic stick-on feet with 3/8th's stainless washers if you are using a hard plastic mousing surface.

Important: This does not work with all mice! I also highly recommend a Ratpadz mousing surface for use with this mod. The washers space your mouse higher off the surface of the mouse pad and only some mice like the MS IntelliMouse 3.0 optical (as pictured) will tolerate the further spacing from the mouse surface.

The thing that is so great about this mod is that no matter how gunked or oily your mouse feet or mouse pad get or no matter how hard you bear down on the mouse during certain times of game-play, the mouse is *so* slick on the surface that the consistency of its traction does NOT change. This provides for an incredible amount of mousing surface consistency and precision like nothing else I have ever seen/used. Lots of people at LAN events seem to really like this mod when I show them.

Hope this helps and remember that since it does not work on all mice to experiment first by attaching the washers with an adhesive that can be removed. Also, get the thinnest stainless (smooth surface) washers you can find to prevent as much spacing increase from the mouse surface. This does NOT work well on any other surface other than hard plastic.

Also, contrary to popular belief this puts very, very little to no wear or scuffs on the surface of the hard plastic Ratpadz surface.

If you have bought or seen "skatez" for mice that replace the feet on your mouse, I assure you they come nowhere near as close to *slick and accurate* as stainless steel and they are also prone to becoming inconsistent with time when they gather hand oil.

This is a simple mod folks. Don't be scared to try. Also, you must, must, must remember to buy "stainless steel" and not zinc or mild steel since those materials will wear very fast and will lose their smoothness.
