RostislaV Skrevet 5. februar 2007 Del Skrevet 5. februar 2007 (endret) I actually really don`t know is this field correct for such theme but I`m very interesting in this question! Unfortunately here is no possibility for starting the polls... So please just give me yours answers simply here. I`m interesting of following - 1. What type of Internet connections do you use? Cable Modem, Optical LAN, xDSL`s, other. 2. What average speed is standard for Norway and HOW it changes in geographical sense? It means - does the same price for users of the same speed and the same type of connection in Oslo and behind Norh Pole Circle for example. 3. How much costs speed in 1 Mbps and 5 Mbps averagely for whole state, for exactly Oslo and is there big difference between different type of connection? 4. And how much the providers has the Norway? I have a big list of them and I`m surprised! So many for so not big country... Will be very grateful for yours answers. Endret 5. februar 2007 av RostislaV Lenke til kommentar
Kurume Skrevet 5. februar 2007 Del Skrevet 5. februar 2007 I use Nextgentel as my ISP. I get 4200/600 kb/s ADSL for 398 nok/month. Its the same price in Norway (if nextgentel has adsl-centrals there), if not, then they (nextgentel) borrow lines from Telenor which has less speed and costs more. Lenke til kommentar

Barcarolle Skrevet 5. februar 2007 Del Skrevet 5. februar 2007 (endret) I have a rather slow ADSL, the speed is 2,2/0,512 mbit. We pay 299 NOK pr. month. But as soon as possible we will change to 20/1 mbit, from the same ISP, this type of internet is callled ADSL2+ i think. I have read a place that the average speed in Norway is 2300 or 2500kbit download , i can`t remember exactly. And by the way, Kurume i did not understand what you ment here, Its the same price in Norway (if nextgentel has adsl-centrals there), if not, then they (nextgentel) borrow lines from Telenor which has less speed and costs more. Do nextgentel provide internet in other countries then Norway? And why does telenor lines got less speed? Endret 5. februar 2007 av Jensemann4 Lenke til kommentar
RostislaV Skrevet 5. februar 2007 Forfatter Del Skrevet 5. februar 2007 As I know and as I read yours comments ... I`m more suring that the most popular Net-Connection in Norway is the technologies - xDSL-s... Hm ... actually it`s sad but it`s understood, concerning that fact that Norway is very specifical state in geographical sense - so xDSL-s more logical way for building net-link inside the Norway ... Rocket Skrevet 5. februar 2007 Del Skrevet 5. februar 2007 I love all threads that concerns bandwith and netconnection ^^ because i use an NetCom EDGE-GSM connection that lies somewhere between 10 and 214kbits\sec download the reason why i say it lies between 10 and 214kbits is that it varies with load on the network...that is the GSM network..aka if someone uses their cellphone near here, my internet speed can decrease for this i pay 500nok a month... ap. 60$ <3 living on the countryside! btw, there are many places around here where the only means of internet besides ISDN and modem are EDGE...so i would say it's somewhat widely used.
