ATI Mobility Radeon X1400 driver i Linux Fedora

Hei har nettop lastet ned Linux Fedora Core 6. Men jeg sliter litt med og få ATI Mobility Radeon X1400 driveren til og fungere. Har noen av dere en veiledning eller noe forslag hva jeg kn gjøre? Jeg har lasta den ned til Linux x86 fordi jeg har ikke 64bit prosesor. Har en intel dual core 1,66GHz. Linux vil heller ikke være samarbeidsvillig om jeg velger Radeon under skermer. Noen som vet hva jeg kan gjøre?

For å logge deg inn som root, så

 

rpm -ivh http://rpm.livna.org/livna-release-6.rpm

 

for å få Livna repository'et som har ati driveren, så må du slå av det repository'et

 

gedit /etc/yum.repos.d/livna.repo

 

Der skal det være noe som ligner

 

enable=1

 

gjør den om til

 

enable=0

 

lagre den og lukk.

 

Så henter vi ati driveren

 

yum -y --enablerepo=livna install kmod-fglrx

 

gedit /etc/X11/xorg.conf

 

Og finn

 

Section "Device"

 

der skal det være

 

Driver      "xxxxx"

 

den forandrer du til

 

Driver      "fglrx"

 

og sørg for at dette står i slutten av filen

 

Section "Extensions"
       Option      "Composite"   "disable"
EndSection

 

lagre den og start på nytt maskinen, hva sier da

 

glxgears

Fant ut en ny ting mens jeg oldt på med det siste dokumentet ejg skulle redigere der står det også under Section "Device" Identifier "Videocard0" skal jeg forandre noe på den? og var det feil at jeg instalerte ati driveren?

glxgears er et lite program som viser tre snurrende tannhjul, som en simpel test av skjermkortet ditt. Åpne et terminal-vindu og skriv glxgears for å starte det (hvis den følger med FC6 da).

Ok. Det funket men jeg får ikke XGL funksjonen til og virke altså destop effects. hva skal jeg gjøre for og få de til og fungere? :dontgetit:

Men oppløsningen min fungerer. det gjorde den ikke før men desktop effects nekter og starte + at om jeg velger mobility radeon på skjermer klikker det for linux så jeg kjører fglrx som jeg måtte skrive inn som du sa. men har du noen bra forslag. dette er jo en laptop da.
