Paramount Shifts Focus To Blu-ray Due To HD DVD Space Constraints

 

 

17  On August 28th, Paramount will ship its first high definition title to include a lossless or uncompressed soundtrack - 'Blades of Glory'. This title will feature a PCM 5.1 soundtrack for the Blu-ray release, but will feature no equivalent on the HD DVD, presumably because of the smaller disc capacity.

 

Two weeks later, Paramount will ship 'Face/Off' with extras features available in high definition, but only on the Blu-ray version, again due to space constraints.

Hmm, dersom dette stemmer (antek at blu-ray.com ikkje er ei 100% nøytral kjelde), kan det bety at "30 GB er nok"-argumentet er i ferd med å falle bort.

Dette blir nok desverre bare tilgjengelig i USA. Dette er et svar på kampanjen som ble startet for blu-ray tidligere hvor alle som kjøper en blu-ray spiller (inkludert ps3) får 5 gratis filmer.

Merkelig siden dedikerte HD DVD spillere selger mye bedre enn dedikerte Blu-ray spillere. PS3 har jo tatt hele Blu-ray markedet, så det er litt rart at så mange andre prøver seg der...

Nei, id velger DVD istedenfor HD DVD. Artikkelen handler ikke om HD DVD vs Blu-ray. Det er snakk om hvilket format de skal bruke for PC plattformen. Og det er ikke mange som har en HD DVD/Blu-ray spiller til pcen.

Asked why he wouldn't do an HD-DVD version for the PC, he said that he didn't see the point in confusing retail with a third SKU when the game is only on two DVDs.

 

Det står da svart på hvitt at de velger å gi det ut på DVD og Blu-ray til PC, og har ingen planer om å gi det ut på HD DVD. Hvis ikke det er i Blu-ray's favør så vet ikke jeg...

Blu-ray er nok til PS3. Står ingenting om at PC versjonen skal komme på Blu-ray.

Ville vært veldig rart hvis de valgte "Hidef" formatene til PC når så få kan bruke dem.
