Installere nVidia driver under Edgy Eft

Det var en sak jeg trodde skulle være rett fram, men det viste det seg at det absolutt ikke var. Installerte Ubuntu Edgy Eft nå nettopp, har ellers ikkke gjort noen ting som helst på systemet. Det første jeg gjorde var å gå inn p å nVidias hjemmesider fant en driver (1.0-9629), og installerte denne.

 

Jeg fikke noen feilmeldinger underveis, feil med kernel interface osv.... Jeg legger ved installer loggen jeg... Jeg prøvde en annen gang å bare installere nvidia-glx fra apt-get, men den funket ikke i det hele tatt (elendig ytelse, funket ikke sammen med Beryl).

 

Saken er den at alt funker perfekt, helt til jeg rebooter. Da får jeg bare beskjed om en eller annen API mismatch. har jeg BÅDE driver fra nVidia's hjemmesider OG nvidia-glx, får jeg beskjed om at de er i forskjellig versjon, og X starter ikke. har jeg BARE driver fra nVidias hjemmesider, får jeg beskjed om at det mangler kernel module etc... Men, systemet funker hvis jeg bare reinstallerer driveren først, men det er litt slit å måtte gjøre det ved hver boot

 

Noen som har opplevd noe slikt, eller eventuelt kan peke meg i retning av en løsning på dette?
