4588pkdkrikue5c Skrevet 12. januar 2008 Del Skrevet 12. januar 2008 Great thread! I don't get to write English that much, which is a bit sad. Well, just to "practice" I translated my whole homepage into English the other day, not that I expect anyone to prefer reading other languages than Norwegian, but still its a good way to improve my writing skills. J@cob Skrevet 13. januar 2008 Del Skrevet 13. januar 2008 Great thread! I don't get to write English that much, which is a bit sad. Well, just to "practice" I translated my whole homepage into English the other day, not that I expect anyone to prefer reading other languages than Norwegian, but still its a good way to improve my writing skills. You go! The only way to really use your english every day, is by playing some online game, or having a lot of foregin friends on the good ol' msn. Then again, even the english speaking people out there can't even write propper. Looks like Norway ain't the only country with the: "We write like 8. graders" problem Lenke til kommentar
Vitharr Skrevet 14. januar 2008 Del Skrevet 14. januar 2008 I don't mind helping people practice their English on msn/skype (since I need people to practice Norwegian with!) ..just PM me and I can give the address ^^ Lenke til kommentar
Bonna86 Skrevet 20. januar 2008 Del Skrevet 20. januar 2008 (endret) I use my English every day, by talking to family and friends via internet. And I'm active on various discussion sites, English in particular. And of course: I watch a lot of English speaking films without subtitles and read books in English. I consider myself fluent and was asked if I was from England (Sussex) when I was in Scotland last October. Would love to be an English teacher someday, I'll be studying English next year and English literature in UK later. Endret 20. januar 2008 av yvonne2 Lenke til kommentar
Gavekort Skrevet 20. januar 2008 Del Skrevet 20. januar 2008 My english is still a little passive, but i hope that it's good enough. But this thread have no meaning, is it a café-thread? Lenke til kommentar
Bonna86 Skrevet 20. januar 2008 Del Skrevet 20. januar 2008 (endret) Yes, I guess it is. I suppose it's a place where one can discuss and write in English. Endret 20. januar 2008 av yvonne2 Lenke til kommentar
Lidskjalv Skrevet 20. januar 2008 Forfatter Del Skrevet 20. januar 2008 That's right, Yvonne. Why can't you begin by telling the rest of us the story behind you bumping into this corner of internet, and finaly posting here at this rather narrow part of this forum? Lenke til kommentar
Bonna86 Skrevet 21. januar 2008 Del Skrevet 21. januar 2008 (endret) Yes, sure I'll. Well, like I said earlier on, I've been active in various forums and became aware of this forum through a friend of mine. I saw this section, an English section - and it simply caught my eye so to speak. I'm actually more active in English forums than Norwegian ones, and it was nice to find a place where I could combine both Norwegian and English, as I'm fond of both languages. I use my English every day and it was simply nice to be able to use it (on a Norwegian discussion site I mean). It felt sort of deliberating to be honest. I'm a self-declared anglophilian and I love everything British (the culture, language/dialects etc). Endret 21. januar 2008 av yvonne2 Lenke til kommentar
Datasmurf Skrevet 29. januar 2008 Del Skrevet 29. januar 2008 Wow, this thread still lives. Great, I've missed a place to write English. After I decided to take a break from World of Warcraft, I don't have many places to write English all day long. Lenke til kommentar
Lidskjalv Skrevet 29. januar 2008 Forfatter Del Skrevet 29. januar 2008 Enlighten me... Is WoW like a never ending dream becoming a never ending nightmare mixed up with the symptoms of drug addiction? Do any of the millions of players have a healthy relation to that game? Lenke til kommentar
Datasmurf Skrevet 29. januar 2008 Del Skrevet 29. januar 2008 I think you got it spot on there. A never ending dream becoming a never ending nightmare. Of course, the users camouflage it, nothing wrong, I can quit whenever I want to. I just don't want to because it's so good and great and amazing and cures poop and cancer and what not! :O "WoW pwns life", ah, how many times haven't I heard that one. Either by my self or others. Seeing small children on the streets, and thinking gnome. A kindergarten on a trip in the city = gnome invasion, I have to get to the nearest farm to get a cow to war stomp them. I went around with my friends for some years saying stuff like that. But I'm not ashamed, and I don't regret it, for it was good times then, but it's not something I want to do again now. Also, "RL.exe may have better gfx than WoW, but WoW have the best lore and the best story!". I've heard it used many times, I've used it my self. It's a bit sad. Lenke til kommentar
Lidskjalv Skrevet 29. januar 2008 Forfatter Del Skrevet 29. januar 2008 (endret) That reminds me of the brainwashing the military caused to me when I was on duty many years ago. For months after I couldn't stop using all the retarded phrases the conscription contained. Mass Mind Control is the issue in both cases, I think. Datasmurf Skrevet 29. januar 2008 Del Skrevet 29. januar 2008 Yes, it's horrible. I think you can say that WoW is like a highly addicting drug. I find it more addicting and more hard to quit than Coca-Cola, chocolate and cigarettes. Lenke til kommentar
Bonna86 Skrevet 30. januar 2008 Del Skrevet 30. januar 2008 I must admit, I never really saw the attraction of WoW, but then again: I'm not really much of a gamer. Well, I guess I play The Sims 2 from time to time, and Dream Fall, but other than that.(..) Lenke til kommentar
Lidskjalv Skrevet 30. januar 2008 Forfatter Del Skrevet 30. januar 2008 I've never played or even understood the concept of role playing games. I'm more into FPS games. Like my all time favorite, Quake II, which I play mostly every day at the time. Perfecting technical movements and strategy every time I complete the game. Nothing like the good old bunch of bad guys! Lenke til kommentar
MindTooth Skrevet 3. februar 2008 Del Skrevet 3. februar 2008 I like the part of RPG where you can "build" your character. And evolve through various steps. MMORPG is just an bonus. (WoW is NOT a bonus!, just pure addiction). Birger Lenke til kommentar

maglame Skrevet 3. februar 2008 Del Skrevet 3. februar 2008 Massive Multiplayer Online RolePlaying Game, i think. And nice thread. Actually, now that I'm not playing WoW all that much, it's nice to write in english once in a while. I know WoW atleast helped me learn to write and speak english. Lenke til kommentar
