Just heard it. Must say I have really no high future expectations to any release of Metallica. I'm sorry to say that I feel they lost it after the "Black Album", and in any case in the infamous "Anti Napster" war and after the Some Kind Og Monster film. To me it's only three albums (And One EP)..:

 

Nothing Before...

 

*Master of Puppets

*The $5.98 E.P.: Garage Days Re-Revisited

*And Justice For All

*Black Abum

 

Nothing After...

I think it all cumulated in the disappointment of the various albums (which thou shall not speak of :!: ) and the total disaster sorrunding the last album. Sum Up. While Slayer and other grannys of metal played happy end enjoyed what they were doing, metallica splitted up, hired psycotherapists, needed rehab and whined about their midlife cricis...Thats not Metal. That's a sinking ship

Agree. But the answer lies hidden within the the biggest metal band of all times. Only when they are ready or if they ever becomes ready, we will know the answer. The biggest problem is the enormous anticipation we all have to any release of the band. That's a pressure that could easily break any man.

I think ...And Justice For All is their best album. I am not a Metallica fan, but I do like ...And Justice For All.

 

One thing I always wondered, why do "all" Metallica fans hate St.Anger, isn't it very Metallicaish?

As I said, I only like ...And Justice For All, and some songs from other albums in the same time period.

I used to be a huge fan. I think their golden age was from Master of Puppets to Metallica (The original album title always known as The Black Album), although they have a few good songs on Load and Reload, like The Unforgiven II, Low Man's Lyric and so on.
