Lidskjalv Skrevet 3. januar 2007 Forfatter Rapporter Del Skrevet 3. januar 2007 (endret) Speaking of dirty words. I remember an album on I had on Compact Cassette of the notorious rapper IceT, where he opened the album with a clear and unrestricted warning: "attention! at this moment you are now listening to an Ice-T LP if you are offended by words like shit, bitch, fuck, dick, ass, hole, cunt, dirty bitch, low motherfucker, nigga, hooker, slut, tramp, dirty low slut tramp bitch hole, nigga fuck shit, whateva.. take the tape out now! this is not a pop album and by the way suck my motherfuckin' dick" Way better than the *bleep* shit of todays mainstream music. edit: corrected IceT quote.. Skogli Skrevet 4. januar 2007 Rapporter Del Skrevet 4. januar 2007 He he. Ice-T is honestly. To mention another example; "Johnny Cash - A boy named Sue". Here he mention the word: sun of a bitch, once in the entire song. The album that my father have, there have they censured that one word! In the middle of the song you here this annoying "beep". Kjekssjokolade Skrevet 4. januar 2007 Rapporter Del Skrevet 4. januar 2007 Well, as we talk about songs with so called "dirty language", Rage Against The Machine has a song called "Killing in the name", were he sings: "Fuck you, I wont do what you tell me" and repeats it several times. Tenacious D, has a song which is called "Fuck Her Gently", the name of the song says it all. Almost all their songs contains the word "fuck". Just something I remembered Lenke til kommentar
Equilibrium Skrevet 4. januar 2007 Rapporter Del Skrevet 4. januar 2007 Have to go 2 years back to the days i wrote english at school.. Damn, i think i really need to write something in here! Lenke til kommentar
SSSø Skrevet 4. januar 2007 Rapporter Del Skrevet 4. januar 2007 I've always though my english was good, much due to my good grades and so. But trying to write just some spimple sentences here is like almost impossible for me. The school, at least mine, dosn't really teach you english. You only learn how to write stupid, useless school papers (on a computer with spelling correction (?). Does anyone have the same problem as me? I really want to improve my english skills, so if you spot some errors, please tell. Lenke til kommentar
Th0mas Skrevet 4. januar 2007 Rapporter Del Skrevet 4. januar 2007 Thought Doesn't English (capital E) I don't think that's all true. At least my (written) English was pretty good, even before I lived in California for a year, and that's probably because of the school system. Obviously TV plays a bigger and bigger role in teaching kids English, and I'm not going to give the school system all the credit, but I don't really know what the could do differently. Anyone else here thinking about going to college in the US? I've applied for 3 in California. Hopefully I'll get in to one of them. Lenke til kommentar
SSSø Skrevet 4. januar 2007 Rapporter Del Skrevet 4. januar 2007 (endret) When do you need to write a short story or a poem? Don't get me wrong, I acually like writing short stories and poems, but is it really useful? What about essays or formal letters? And what about just heaving a daily conversation in the class (where the teacher pushes everyone to speak)? That just never happend after 9th grade. But well; it might just be my teachers... Kjekssjokolade Skrevet 4. januar 2007 Rapporter Del Skrevet 4. januar 2007 Well, short stories and poems, are stuff we usually don't need for nothing else but grades. We find these genres of writing in Norwegian, German and other languages you may be having on school. It's a part of the whole, developing of your mind, stuff. I think it is ok to write it, but as most things on school, it is boring. Don't think they are usefull at all. Great to start school again, finally, after two weeks of nothing to do, I can FINALLY go to school again. Fantastic, absolutely fabulous. Best thing there is, to start school after a lovely 'nothing to do' vacation. This I have being looking forward to, since the vacation started. Tomorrow we have a two hour English test, better prepare now. Well actually I am preparing right now, in the English section of this, second home of mine. Please correct my lingual errors. Thank you Lenke til kommentar

Knofle Skrevet 4. januar 2007 Rapporter Del Skrevet 4. januar 2007 Well, it is soon time for me to take my TOESL test, and I need a certain score to apply for a school in England. I hope I'll pass, but it may be hard. Are there anyone here that has taken it? Do you find any spelling errors, please say it. Lenke til kommentar
