Xtra Skrevet 20. november 2006 Del Skrevet 20. november 2006 (endret) I didn't quite get your point there... Altough I must say, analyzing something for it to be interpreted in a new way is neither foolish of stupid. I am allowed to think even though it's not my job. 7326445 I hate it. I find it pointless, and in many cases really faulty. The problem lies in the fact that analysis is given such a strong place in anything that has to do with litterature. At a University level, I believe a study of a language and its litterature should include analysis, but at a High School level, the use of it just leaves us with many people getting really tired of reading, and in turn, it ruins general interest in reading. The complementary and extensive use of analysis in the Norwegian school must end. We are getting to the point where one analyses the text just to analyse it, not because it needs to be analysed, but because analysis is analysis. That is silly. And nothing will get me to change my oppinion. Heck, the whole damned school needs a damn good reform. 7326765 I must say I do agree about your view on the analysises, but I feel it's in no way extensive, or comprehensive. I believe we do about 2-3 analysises per semester, that is 4-6 per school year. Endret 20. november 2006 av Xtra Lenke til kommentar
Heilage Skrevet 21. november 2006 Del Skrevet 21. november 2006 Marley: whether the teacher gives you challenges or not, will naturally vary from teacher to teacher, based on their personal preferances and/or experiences with doing so. What would you say is "something complicated" then? And do you still have English, or have you chosen it away, just based on your bad experiences from the foundation course? 7326586 Ofcourse, but if I had the chance to discard English as a subject, I would, and there wouldn't be a problem at all. But I won't get my foundation for a graphical designer without it. Sad but true. I hate it. I find it pointless, and in many cases really faulty. The problem lies in the fact that analysis is given such a strong place in anything that has to do with litterature. We shouldn't analyze something, simply because we're not educated enough? And by the way, analyzing books and poems is THE MOST unmotivating thing you can ask a pupil do to. I'm talking about analyzing a subject, like something I'm very intersted in; the western worlds showdown with nazism, but still keeping to communism. And the other way around, how the now eastern block og Europe hasn't had it's "realization" with nazism and the way it worked. This might be an explanation as to why the rise of extreme right wing political parties is so prominent in the old DDR nowadays. I believe we are talking about different things. Lenke til kommentar
Simon Aldra Skrevet 21. november 2006 Del Skrevet 21. november 2006 Yes, we are. Analyzing a poem, is like eating grawel. Analyzing a subject, a problem for instance, and seeing how one can solve it, is a good thing. That is like eating bread. Not bad at all. Lenke til kommentar
Heilage Skrevet 21. november 2006 Del Skrevet 21. november 2006 Allright then. Childrens' language worsenes by the day, and the schools want to analyze poems of dead semi-nazi writers. It's stupid beyond all recognition. As I also have pointed out in this thread about norwegian infrastructure in education. https://www.diskusjon.no/index.php?showtopic=664043&st=0 Lenke til kommentar
Datasmurf Skrevet 21. november 2006 Del Skrevet 21. november 2006 What a dull day. 2 hours of "markedsføring", 3 hours of freetime where I had to stay at school and now 3 hours with "bedriftsøkonomi". Or 3 hours with surfin' the net. And then I have to walk home in 5 degrees. Yay My body aches from the gym and the washing yesterday, and from sleeping under my desk. Can't wait for the weekend to come. I'll sleep from Thursday night till Monday morning! Lenke til kommentar
