Slimda Skrevet 23. august 2010 Del Skrevet 23. august 2010 You have the wrong attitude and approach there Mr. Bear. My approach is this: On Monday, it's only four days left until weekend. I also have a meaty(tuesday) and fishy(wednesday) breakfast to look forward to at work. And Waffles on fridays. So, remember, as Monty Python sung: Always look on the bright side of Life. saladin waits for alice Skrevet 23. august 2010 Del Skrevet 23. august 2010 Two of my fellow students decided not to buy two books that is part of the curriculum, it seems they rather not read any books in English. Not sure how anyone can expect anything else from a University, I expected more then half of the books to be in English. Lenke til kommentar
Slimda Skrevet 23. august 2010 Del Skrevet 23. august 2010 They rather not read any books in english? What are they, stupid? Why should the books be in Norwegian, a language spoken by a mere 4 million people? Lenke til kommentar

saladin waits for alice Skrevet 23. august 2010 Del Skrevet 23. august 2010 Not really sure why, maybe they just don't feel all that comfortable reading books in English, I did a little quick reading on these books, and it didn't seem all that advanced, language wise that is, the content is as well not that mind blowing. But then again, I am used to read books in English, I actually prefer it that way, never liked reading a translated version of a book, quotes however is passable. Lenke til kommentar

I agree, a lot of stuff gets "lost in translation" It's like watching a comedy show with a lot of word plays, you can't translate them... Lenke til kommentar
Gjest medlem-1432 Skrevet 23. august 2010 Del Skrevet 23. august 2010 (endret) I almost bought an English book today, I'm going to buy it, I think. I dont remember the name of the book, but it was about a person that was a passanger on a bus(I think) and then the bus broke, and it was in the middle of a snow land and the person didn't have a jacket and it was a very long way to find civilization and it was cold. Anyone read it? Endret 23. august 2010 av medlem-1432 Lenke til kommentar

saladin waits for alice Skrevet 23. august 2010 Del Skrevet 23. august 2010 speaking of reading, Slimda, I have given the drizzt books a "rest", currently reading the Sellswords trilogy, not bad, seeing as a lot of these characters aren't really good in their behavior, but neither "stupid" evil. More like survivalist. Lenke til kommentar
Slimda Skrevet 23. august 2010 Del Skrevet 23. august 2010 You're missing a capital S there, at the start of your sentence. Also, you should use the punctuation mark more often. I haven't read an english book in many months now. Been busy screwing around with other things. Like playing games. Lenke til kommentar
saladin waits for alice Skrevet 23. august 2010 Del Skrevet 23. august 2010 Nah, the amount time I use on games have reduced drastically lately. Getting a job and forcing myself to study each week (rather then do a "all nighter") has pretty much taken up all my time. Also, trying to stick to my diet is a full time mental job! Been playing Starcraft 2 and Demigod from time to time though! Lenke til kommentar

I also have a meaty(tuesday) and fishy(wednesday) breakfast to look forward to at work. And Waffles on fridays. So, remember, as Monty Python sung: Always look on the bright side of Life. Also remember they sung "Life's a piece of shit, when you look at it. Life's a joke and death's the final stroke" I don't think we should quote Life of Brian to be any life philosophic to be honest, they might have gotten a few things wrong throughout that film. The thing is, I'm working at a hotel, so I work shifts, meaning that this week I have weekend shifts, meaning I don't have a weekend to look forward to. Yeah sure I have Thursday and Friday off, but that's not weekend, that's just regular days. I don't have any weekends of until nearly 2 weeks now. Now that's just a dam long time to look forward to. Ah, also, 27th of August, Mafia 2. Now that's something worth looking forward to. Dam I've been waiting ages for Mafia 2, Mafia has to be one of the best games created. Awesome story, brilliant music, brilliant feel to the game, a city that feels alive. It just had everything back then. I still play it and I still love it. In fact, I think I need to go into a marathon here, playing Mafia before Mafia 2 hits the streets. Oh, and about English books, I suggest people read up some "The dark Tower" by Stephen King. Yes I know, I suggest Stephen King all the time, so just call me a King Fanboy but that man sure know how to weave a story that routes you where you are until it's done. Edit: An F a day keeps the Edit away. Endret 23. august 2010 av Bear^ Lenke til kommentar
