Killerquo Skrevet 15. november 2006 Del Skrevet 15. november 2006 I've played lots of games since young age. I feel that's one of the reasons my written English is so good, and I don't mean to brag, but I really think it's over the top compared to many others my age. Playing WoW on an RP-server with people using odd words and grammatics might also have helped me. And I dearly like English books. I've read The Lord of The Rings, and a few series written by Tad Williams, all in English, of course, and not a single word seems to pass me by. I like English It helps communication with people around the world get easier. And becasue I have the possibility to express myself with a huge vocabulary, I might get to other words and explanations when others might not understand me. That's my words for tonight. Loerand Skrevet 15. november 2006 Del Skrevet 15. november 2006 Used to be a member of an english forum, but gave it up due to the linguistic problem. Gor tired of writing english all the time, even in chit-chat. Lenke til kommentar
Republic3D Skrevet 15. november 2006 Del Skrevet 15. november 2006 I used to speak english every day at work, but now I've changed jobs and I don't need to speak as much english any more. But almost everything I see on tv is in english, as well as a lot of the stuff I read on the internet. I don't even notice that it's in english and not in norwegian any more. Lenke til kommentar

Jaffe Skrevet 15. november 2006 Del Skrevet 15. november 2006 (endret) What a great idea this thread was. I've never thought of this before, but I see how convenient it might be (for those who don't play WoW, etc. like me). EDIT: And pwd3679: it's spelled "much", not "mutch". L4r5 Skrevet 15. november 2006 Del Skrevet 15. november 2006 (endret) I usually listen to the sound instead of reading the subtitles when english tv-shows are being broadcasted. 7293571[/snapback] Me too. But that may be becasue I always get so f***ing annoyed by those stupid translators who can't translate it correctly. Klikk for å se/fjerne innholdet nedenfor An example: in a seinfeld-episode they managed to translate "make-up sex" to "sminkesex" Endret 15. november 2006 av L4r5 Lenke til kommentar
Sigga Skrevet 15. november 2006 Del Skrevet 15. november 2006 Yeah, but it isn't alway so easy to translate sayings for example, since there is no correct norwegian version of them alot of times. Lenke til kommentar
DE1 Skrevet 15. november 2006 Del Skrevet 15. november 2006 Funny you made this thread. As incanus said in 2nd post I created a thread about it and for a couple of minutes ago Aalton created a poll. If you would like a "english-part" of this forum, please vote "ja".. Btw, don't discuss my bad english. Lenke til kommentar

edds Skrevet 15. november 2006 Del Skrevet 15. november 2006 Nice thread! I've thought about starting a thread like this, but I never bothered. Hmm, when was the last time I practiced my engish skills, must've been a few weeks ago when I was chatting with some british friends via MSN. A question for all of you (not related to written English, though): What kind of an accent do you have? Norweigan-English? British? American? Do tell. Lenke til kommentar

Jaffe Skrevet 15. november 2006 Del Skrevet 15. november 2006 I tend to have an American accent, but not all words are pronounced the "American way" -- some are more like British. So I guess it's quite varied... Lenke til kommentar

Torbjørn T. Skrevet 15. november 2006 Del Skrevet 15. november 2006 Practicing English... When it comes to speaking and writing, I rarely use English. A post now and then in various forums is really the only occasion. I do read a lot in English though, and sometimes watch movies without subtitles. Lenke til kommentar
