My oral exam is on June 19th, the teachers decided to have it late so that we wouldn't get so many days without anything to do. Well well, I haven't been at school since last Tuesday, when I had my written examination, hurray for the striking teachers. :p

No, it's not. Practice speaking freely and it will be easy. Learn the text so good, you can even tell it aslepp.

edit: I began, but then my mother came into the room.

Tee hee.

Anyway - so, you have a British accent that has an American accent that has a Norwegian accent. It's probably better than the other people in your class anyway, and one cannot expect a Norwegian to have better English pronounciation and "flow" of the words than you.

It's probably a good idea to make up one's mind about what accent you want to do for the "assignment" - I usually watch a Harry Potter movie and copy one of the accents there, but if it's today you need it ready, then never mind. It's good enough anyway.

Has the teacher said anything about what accent he prefers? Because you could eventually attempt an American accent if that works better for you. I guess not though.

Another thing that works for me personally when trying to make an accent 100% flawless, is to become a character that has that accent. I change my voice and overdo some aspects of it, to sort of make a charicature/stereotype of a British, Australian, American or whatever. It works really well, and makes the whole presentation a lot more interesting and engaging. It's way boring to watch when it's not engaging.

I know it's too late, and you probably are having your presentation now, but I just wanted to say good luck (!!) once more!

Oh yeah, woops. I forgot that I have school off today, and imagined it was still 7 in the morning.

Anyway, yeah, you can keep whatever of my advice helped for next time, WinterMoon.

I'm finsihed now. I didn't look at the manuscript once and talked very british english, and got a 5. My friend who read directly for his manuscript and talked american got also a 5. I'm so pissed off that I want to kill that old hag of a external examiner.

edit: Maybe i'll turn on GTA IV and kill some old ladys looking like her, and listen to Internal Suffering.

Well I dont think they put too much "weight" on the assignments themselves, or wether you look at the script or not.

But how you can make yourself understood in english (british or american), and can have a common conversation with someone that speaks english.

Atleast that was how we were graded.

Finished off my last final exam (oral) this week. I think it went pretty well, but you can never be sure, now can you? I'll get my grade on Monday, hate the waiting! Anway, I just realised the fact that I'll be a teacher in a year, just one more year to go. English next semester and I can't wait! Been looking forward to this for three years, so I guess you can understand my excitement. :D *Jumping around in joy*

Edit: stupid mistake.

Hey. Congratulations! I'm sure it went very well!

I visited my grandparents on thursday, and they had i visitor from the US. I didn't say a word english. I'm not used to talk english with other people than my teacher or class. This summer I have to talk english, 'cause I'm going to Greece. :D And in the fall I'm going to Poland. I'm really looking forward to both.
