"Wouldn't submerging a system in a non-conductive oil be better than streaming liquid to each component? ^

Non-conductive solutions like mineral oil have three things against them: low thermal conductivity, high density, and high cost. Water-based solutions are the most effective liquids at conducting heat (after mercury)-- better than alcohol, better than glycol, and far better than oil. It is also difficult to maintain a reliable liquid flow with oil; it tends to be very taxing on the pump."
