Well, I just watched my first 2012-movie as well. And it was The Hunger Games! There was no midnight premiere screening in my city, and luckily there were no costumes either. But what was present, was tweens, and lots of them. Everyone were taking pictures of each others with their Iphones and making duckfaces.

Let's start of with what annoyed me the most; the incredible shaky cam. I got a headache and the directing just seemed weird. Focusing on weird things, unfocusing, camera incredible close up to people etc. It got better after around half an hour, but the damage was already done.

When it comes to acting I got to agree with Chris, Jennifer Lawrence did a poor job. Her little sister in the movie though, Willow Shields did a ok job for the few minutes she was on. The only character i really liked was Haymitch played by Woody Harrelson.

Finally after a long build up and the action started it went fast. Teen after teen were slayed down, I don't know if Gary Ross even tried. But we feel absolutely nothing when watching these kids die. To face the truth, this movie was made to drag young girls to the cinema, and at that they have done a very good job.

This wasn't just shit though. There was times were i smiled, and I even joined the clapping (not so enthusiastic as the others in the cinema). Some nice explosion-scenes that was nice to watch on the big screen and Woody's appearance was enjoyable.

I have read the two first books in the series and soon finished with the third, and liked the book much better. In the book it's actually exciting to find out who's going to die next and how Katniss is gonna survive. The movie made this hasty and boring. It also changed some things from the book that I was okay with. Though my neighbor in the cinema didn't act like he felt the same way. Got very dissapointed when finding out some characters wasn't in the movie etc.

But it did get long. Two and a half hour of bad acting and cinematography gets boring. I thought better of Twilight, heck I even liked Hababam Sinifi better!

5/10

Nettopp sett We Need To Talk About Kevin, knallfilm som alle bør se!

Heller veldig mot litt lettere underholdning, The Three Musketeers (1973).
