Kjetil Lura Skrevet 1. november 2002 Del Skrevet 1. november 2002 sixpack2002 Read/Write error or bad medium detected. Her er noe eg fant med å søke på teksten over: When recording a disc, I receive the error message "Write command failed... Read/Write error or bad medium detected". What does this mean? This error is usually caused by a buffer underrun (the term "buffer underrun" means that data is not being sent to the recorder at a fast enough rate to maintain the selected recording speed). This slowdown could be caused by other applications that are running on your system at the same time. This includes screen savers, power saving options, disk utilities, virus checkers, or other programs that may be running in the background. This problem can also occur if you are trying to backup a CD directly from a CDROM drive to your recorder. If this occurs, then we suggest that you copy to your harddrive first. To solve this problem, you can try recording at a slower speed, shutting down other applications, or enabling the caching feature in the software on the "Devices and Settings" screen. Note: Do not set the cache size larger than 2MB. Anything larger than this is unnecessary and can cause system performance problems.
