Project Ego Update

 

Project Ego has been renamed Fable and the developer is expecting a mature rating.

 

Fable, as the game will now be known, is in development at the UK studio Big Blue Box with an anticipated released of Christmas 2003. Yes, it might seem like a long way out, but the continuous updates on the game's progress should keep your juices flowing.

 

Dene Carter, managing director and one of brains behind the game, has spoken about what kind of rating he expects the final game to have. "The rating for this game is exceedingly likely to be 'Mature' since its content is fairly dark and in cases where humans are killed in any graphic manner (i.e. without having them disappear in a puff of smoke and effects) the Mature rating is slapped on immediately."

 

He continued, "We're trying to write a game which handles violence in the same way as the film the Unforgiven. It's there, but we want to let the player know that violence has consequences, and that death really matters to the people in the world. My guess is that people will 'experiment' with killing people for the hell of it. If we do it properly, they won't feel like doing it twice..."
