Nvidia launching Quad SLI tomorrow

NVIDIA wants to promote gaming at resolutions higher than the magical 2048x1536. The fabless chipper wants to get loaded gamers to spend even more on their gaming rigs. It suggests that you should play on 30-inch Dell screens and that you should set your resolution at 2560x1600.

 

Nvidia was kind enough to inform us that 30-inch Dell or Mac screens have dropped to an "affordable" $2250 and that therefore you should go our buy Quad SLI now.

 

Th reason the company has chosen to bang on about big screens is that tomorrow it will finally reveal its Quad SLI. It will be fast but it still, as far as we are concerned, very pointless.

 

Nvidia reckons a quad SLI rig will be able to work with 950W PSU, but it would be nice if you can get 1000W PSU. It is crazy power, for a crazy system. A crazy expensive and crazy super show-off feature.

 

A bunch of Nvidia's partners should have those systems at their CEBIT booths and we expect to be razzle-dazzled by some of those crazy, show off systems.
