Abit Siluro GF4Ti 4200

It’s always a pleasure to overclock Abit products, no matter if these are motherboards or video cards. As I previously said Siluro 4200 is very nicely clocked: 250Mhz for both core and memory. The GPU heatsink is installed very well on Siluro 4200: good contact pressure, lot of thermal grease. The fan is quiet, you will hear nothing from it after you close the case. Although the heatsink is quite large, I was not satisfied in the highest degree about the cooling capabilities: the heatsink temperature measured with an infrared sensor was over 75 degrees Celsius (167 degrees Fahrenheit)! Even in overclocking conditions that’s a pretty high temperature.
