Derfor: *klipp and paste* ___________________________________________________ I am upgrading my mainboard and processor. And I've been told that in order to benefit fully from it, I should also re-install windows (98 and 2000, dual boot). I use win98 as the basis for a recording studio, which is DirectX-based. I use quite a lot of different DirectX plugins for different sound applications, and these plug-ins are loaded with DirectX, not the app. From what I understand, they can be seen more like drivers than as applications as such. The problem is that if I re-install windows completely, I may also have to re-install Direct-X, and thus lose all my precious plugs and their settings. Of course, I can just re-install these as well, but that includes a lot of extra work and a LOT of fine-tuning and optimizing. Any way of getting around this? Is it, for instance, possible to: -Install windows, but somehow keeping the old DirectX on top of it? -Install windows and DirectX, but make some kind of backup of the reference that DirectX has made to the plugins? -Installi windows ON TOP OF the old version ("repair"?), thus getting it to update the hardware set-up and optimize to it, but without losing the old settings and references? ____________________________________________ På advance, takk you. Lenke til kommentar
