Cheshire Cat Skrevet 10. januar 2006 Del Skrevet 10. januar 2006 (endret) Vil gjerne ha respons på denne engelsk innleveringen min 1: The nation of immigrants "The U.S.A. is a nation of immigrants." This is the quote I'm going to base my half-way-true-and-half-way-lies-and-assumptions essay on, but before I spam massive amounts of assumptions and lies we need some facts. The non-assumption-and-no-lies-at-all facts: - The first ever on American soil was tiny little one-celled organisms (but I think I'm going to stick with the human race through this essay). - The first humans on American soil, were nomads from Northeast Asia about 20,000 years ago. These wanderers are the ancestors of today's Native Americans. - After the Asians there were (this I'm actually proud of) a small number of Vikings from Norway, who arrived about year 1000. These Vikings thought of America as a cold, nasty and boring place... so they went home, drank loads of mead and raided England instead. - The Norwegian golden age of raiding, drinking and raping passed. Now the Asians wanted some glory and fame again, so China sent a fleet to discover the world. The fleet managed to discover America, but the Chinese didn't like it much here either, so they returned home to practise Kung Fu and make silk. - Now finally to the famous man who is credited with the discovery of America, Christopher Columbus. It was in 1492 Christopher Columbus sat sail for India but arrived at "the new world". Of course, Columbus didn't know that what he discovered wasn't India. He died still believing that he had found the fastest route to India. At this moment we dont need more non-assumption-and-no-lies-at-all facts and we are ready to begin with the main part (wich is filled with assumptions and lies) of the essay. There is a lot that indicates that U.S.A. is a nation of immigrants, especially all the immigrants. First of all we may look at the fact that the oldest human bones ever found, was in some African country. If this is true, all countries but some African, are nations of immigrants (but if we accept this my essay will be ruined, so we'll just leave this one out). So after Pangaeo and the awakening of the human lust of wandering, some nomads travelled to America and settled from the Northern part to the Southern. Since these guys were the first humans to ever set foot at America they are in my point of view, the real Americans. In 1492 Italian Christopher Columbus arrived at the East Indies. He was very delighted and went back and fetched backup. Now Spain, Portugal, France, Germany and the UK had several fat and dirty fingers in the game over at the new world. These mean people went around with huge sticks, banging on the Native American heads saying "Mine! Mine! Mine!" Later the Triangle trade was born, ships went from Western Europe with settlers and supplies, went to the African colonies (where the mean people also had gone crazy with big sticks), fetched slaves and then sat sail to the new world. Even later than the later before this later, the late 19th century, there was an economical depression across Europe. Loads of poor people heard of this fantastic new land of possibilities and went to America. Then even later than all of the upper laters (wich makes this the latest of the late), 20th century, America has been accepting immigrants and war-refugees. This is the three main Immigration faces of American immigration history. There is rather few things that indicates that the U.S. of A. is not a nation of immigrants. There are mostly extremly patriotic Americans who claim this, but there are some who claim that "If you are born on American soil you are an American citizen, therefore no matter how far away your parents came form, you are a true American." Without immigration America would never have been populated at all (but lets look away from this one too, since its ruining some other points). If we took the Native Americans and left them alone, never "discovered" them. Then they would have been extremly far back in technology, they wouldn't have known anything about the outside world, we would have known nothing about Burger King nor the internet. Isolation is never good, without immigration and influence from others, you don't develop fast, and America has developed a lot of things. If you look at all the things above, it clearly says that America is a nation of immigrants, due to some crazy mean people with huge sticks and a banging desire. edit: wtf han vil absolutt ikke la meg ha avsnitt O.o Endret 10. januar 2006 av AftaBurn Lenke til kommentar

Snillingen Skrevet 14. januar 2006 Del Skrevet 14. januar 2006 (endret) In 1492 Italian Christopher Columbus arrived at the East Indies Du mener West Indies - The first humans on American soil, were nomads from Northeast Asia about 20,000 years ago. These wanderers are the ancestors of today's Native Americans Her kunne du nevnt at man tror de kom under forige istid, men at man i nyere tid spekulerer om de kom mye tidligere - The Norwegian golden age of raiding, drinking and raping passed. Now the Asians wanted some glory and fame again, so China sent a fleet to discover the world. The fleet managed to discover America, but the Chinese didn't like it much here either, so they returned home to practise Kung Fu and make silk. - After the Asians there were (this I'm actually proud of) a small number of Vikings from Norway, who arrived about year 1000. These Vikings thought of America as a cold, nasty and boring place... so they went home, drank loads of mead and raided England instead. Later the Triangle trade was born, ships went from Western Europe with settlers and supplies, went to the African colonies (where the mean people also had gone crazy with big sticks), fetched slaves and then sat sail to the new world.

Loerand Skrevet 15. januar 2006 Del Skrevet 15. januar 2006 Humoristisk, tja.
