Prøver å installere ett program!(TIS 2000) Men jeg får følgende feilmelding! (Virker nettverk releatert derfor jeg poster dette her)

Vel, et kjapt søk gav meg indikasjoner på at flere har hatt samme feil.

 

Det var desverre ikke mulig å tolke en eventuell løsning. (spansk eller noe).

Kan du si noe mer om hva programmet, TIS2000, skal utføre? På den måten kan noen muligens kunne tenke seg frem til en eventuell løsning.

TIS 2000 er verkstedmanualer til Opel! Så hvorfor den kommer med akkurat den feilmeldingen er for meg uvist! Trodde ikke dette programmet skulle komminusere med noe annet en seg selv jeg!

 

Fikk oversatt det som sto der:

 

Spansk: lo instalas como autonomo o como servidor , es en la instalacion o mientra lo ejecutas .

 

Engelsk: you install it like autonomo or like servant, it is in the installation or mientra you execute it.

 

Skjønte ikke så mye mere av dette men! Man får undersøke litt mer!

Unfortunately, I do not know which application you are having trouble using, but regarding the screenshot which claims "unable to use (recieve?) echo service", the echo I believe is ICMP ping, or just 'ping' for short. Though it says it's a TCP/IP problem, ping/echo requests is a part of the ICMP protocol - not the TCP!

 

Some routers, ADSL modems, Windows XP integrated firewall, and possibly Norton, etc., may block ICMP ping for security reasons such as stealth mode, anti-DDoS, etc. If possible, try reviewing your router/modem/Windows XP firewall/Norton security settings, and allow traffic of ICMP packages.

 

Another possibility of ping errors might be while sending an ICMP ping request to a webserver (or such) which no longer exist, and thereby prompting you with that error message (though the error message would be very non-descriptive for the actual problem).

This can be the case if the application you are trying to install is attempting to connect to a webserver (or such) during install for e.g. updates.

The windows xp firewall (and many others) doesn't have echo reply enabled as default. (This means the computer doesn't respond on ping. Could this be the problem? That's the first thing i thought about when i saw the errormessage. (Hi nitro, how's it hanging?)

 

Try figure out what port the software tries to make a connection on (using ethereal) and forward that in your NAT (and enabling echo request in IMCP in your firewall). With ethereal you can also see what server TIS is trying to access, and you can try to get some lifesigns of it manually).

 

Edit: the imcp settings for the xp firewall... didn't MS change them in SP2? In that case it can xplain why users can make it work in sp1 but not sp2 (pretty bad translation, but I thought I saw something about that in LA7DFA's post. But with my fever and all, I can't guarantee anything)

thx for ur answers.. the windows xp firewall is not the problem, we tried it, but the installation is still aborted..

the problem got installed on another PC without troubles and also runs without problems..

 

maybe it's the router or any other protecting software.. we try to figure out..

its not the windows xp firewall or any other protection program.. maybe the router ("fritz box") but there's no option where anything is written with "ICMP" or something..
