Bare litt klaging...

 

Synes bare det er merkelig at FMD teknologien some det var snakk om for flere år siden med 140GB disker til $2 aldri kom på markedet. Denne teknologien ble ble annonsert tidlig i år 2000. Hvorfor er Blueray / HD DVD så langt etter. Er det med vilje??

why? because unlike the current reflective surface of dvds, the fluorescent discs had no interference from one layer to the other and could flawlessly burn to the disc even with defects. also, the cost of manufacturing a 15 layer FMD (as you can read in the article) is only 76 cents.

 

Unfortunately this technology made by constellation 3D died a few years ago. why? because the group of scientists that were working on this technology weren't thinking like a business. sony, phillips, pioneer, all these companies will gouge the general consumer for as much money as we will pay to upgrade from 4.7 gb to 8.5 gb to 27 gb, while a 100 layer FMD could hold 140+ GB.

 

so basically, i'm saying dual-layer blu-ray, and all these other formats that will soon come around are just to make the consumer excited about a small advancement in technology, while we had something much better several years ago. technology is being slowed down by companies and advancements are dying because the large tech companies want to make a few extra billion rather than please the consumer.
