I write this e-mail because of the problems that have surfaced considering my trip to China this autumn. I was planning to leave the 24th of September, and return the 15th of October. This means that I will miss 11 schooldays.

 

As far as I understood you were quite upset when you learned about my plans; mainly because the IB contract states that you can only be away from school a set number of days. Unfortunately, I have not been able to read this contract yet, as I haven't had the chance to meet my teacher Namal.

 

This worries me greatly as I have been loking forward to the trip for almost a full year and I would hate to cancel it now. I've personally been quite interested in China and chinese culture for some time, especially after having projects about chinese politics and culture at my previous school. I would hate to miss this chance to experience the chinese culture in person. Additionaly, I am not sure if the flight tickets are refundable and as they are very expensive that is also a problem.

 

I hope you could suggest a solution to the problem that would be beneficial for both me and the school, that would work out in the long run.

Nei dessverre. Alt jeg hadde var tålmodighet og en kyrillisk emulator. Jeg kommer ikke nærmere, da jeg ikke kan språket.

Fintes det ett godt norskt ord for det engelske ordet "procrastination"? Eller er utsettelse og sommel det beste vi har?

Jeg har hørt prokrastinere brukt som norsk ord flere ganger. Synes det er et helt ok låneord, med tanke på utsette, som er det nærmeste man kommer, ikke egntlig handler om det samme.
