Saucy pants leaks Radeon 1800XT scores !

Preliminary scores, final board expected to be faster

OUR GOOD colleague with a distinguished taste for cloth trousers managed to grab some early scores of upcoming R520XT and PRO cards.

Sander "trousers" Sassen posted all of the scores of Radeon X1800XT and Radeon X1800PRO on his website and even had a many cards to compare it with, he claimed.

 

This will just spill some oil on not such a great relationship that this chap has with ATI PR spinners but it's kind of his citizen responsibility to report those kinds of highly anticipated scores to the audience. You can get the scores here but we have to inform you that this was the test conducted someplace in the Far East and clock sounds to be right, but still not final.

 

The trouser tests shows that Radeon X1800 XL clocked at 600 MHz core and 1400MHz is not good enough to beet Geforce 7800GTX. In some cases ATI wins but overall at this test you can see that Nvidia is still dominating.

 

But our informative birdie told us that those scores are little bit below what you should see at final product. Remember that despite ATI said to the world + dog that the card will work at 600 MHz core and 1400 MHz memory they can chance those details until the launch in first week of October. So be careful and bare in mind that those drivers are in beta phase so maybe company can tweak thing or two.

 

If those numbers are final ATI lost the race already. We believe that numbers are genuine but final board with final drivers can maybe even run faster. µ
