Hjelp til Asus 500g

Hei.

Har nylig kjøpt meg en Asus 500g router. Den har en ubs inngang der man skal bla. kunne kople til en ekstern harddisk. Jeg har nå prøvd det i noe dager og ikke fått det til.

 

Er det noen her som kan guide meg igjennom det?

Det kan jeg helt sikkert. Jeg har samme greia selv. Men du må fortelle litt mer spesifikt hva du har prøvd.

Ellers finner du mye på http://www.wl500g.info/forumdisplay.php?f=10 Veldig bra forum. Etterhvert kan du jo tenke åp å laste nec custom firmware som gir deg masse ny funksjonalitet.

Jeg har prøvd å oppdatere firmware og endre innstillingene på 192.168.1.1 for å gjøre klart for usb harddisken.

Hvilken firmware version bruker du? Plages også med at routeren slår seg av og på.

Hadde vært snilt av deg om du hadde tatt det helt fra starten(restartet routeren nå pga. kom ikke på nett).

Jeg bruker Oleg's firware 1.9.2.7-5a. Det er ikke en av firwarene til ASUS, men den gir mye mer funksjonalitet. Jeg har også en wl-hdd og der kjører jeg den aller nyeste firmwaren. Begge funker bra.

 

Jeg har aldri hatt problemer med at routeren slår seg av og på. Er du sikker på at din gjør det, og at det ikke bare er nettet som faller ut? Hvor ofte skjer det?

Jeg har lest om en del andre som har hatt problem med at nettet detter ut, men det tror jeg er fikset i de nyere firmwarene.

 

Har du oppgradert til ASUS sin firmware, eller en av custom-firmwarene?

 

Har du customfirmware kan du telnete/SSHe til boksen og da er det mye lettere å debugge. Vet du om boksen detekterer disken i det hele tatt, eller kommer du bare ikke inn på den via ftp eller windows nettverk share?

 

Det hadde vært greit om du kunne poste syslogen fra boksen, så er det lettere å få en ide om hva som skjer.

 

Fungerer ruteren fint når disken ikke er plugget inn?

Fungerer disken fint når du plugger den i PC?

Er det en eller flere partisjoner på disken, eller er den upartisjonert og uformatert?

 

Kan sikkert guide deg litt på telefon. Tar for lang tid å skrive en inngående guide.

Ja jeg mente at den faller nett. Jeg har lastet ned nyeste firmware fra asus.com, men det hjalp ikke.

Eksterne harddisken fungerer helt 100 med pc`en. Hvor skal jeg kunne se den når jeg kopler den til routeren?

Ser ut som du har litt ymse issues her.

Jeg foreslår at du prøver å forenkle det ved å velge en konfigurasjon som er enklest mulig. Få det enkle til å virke først og enable flere ting etterhvert.

Ser ut som du har Canaldigital, og har koblet wl500g rett på denne. Foreslår at du som test setter opp wl500g som rent aksesspunkt. (gjøres i system setup menyen, velg Access point)

Sett fast ip i stedet for DHCP: disable DHCP i IP Config menyen. Sett deretter en fast ip på pc'n din. Dette fjerner alle DHCP enriene i loggen din. Det er nok disse som har gjort at du blir frakoblet hele tiden.

 

Jeg regner med at du koblet deg på via trådløst da du genererte loggen du postet. Dette burde gå bra. For testing kan du slå av trådløs kryptering hvis du har det påslått. Slå også av firewall hvis du vet hva du gjør. Dette forutetter at du enten ikke er koblet på internett, eller at du har en klientfirewall på pc'n din som du stoler på. (Det bør du uansett ha!)

Du kan også koble deg på men nettverkskabel i en av switch-portene. Pass på at nettverksportene er i kompatible modus. Enten auto på begge sider, eller 100/full på begge sider.

ser litt mystisk ut. Dro du ut disken, eller skjedde det helt av seg selv?

Maxtor usb disker skal funke. Jeg bruker en selv.

Jeg kan ikke se i loggen din at disken blir mountet, men det er en stund siden jeg har brukt ASUS fin firmware, så jeg husker ikke helt hva som skal logges. Du har også noen disk I/O errors som ikke ser helt bra ut. Hvis du ikke har masse rart på disken, kunne du prøve å slette partisjonen, opprette en ny primary partition, og formatere den med FAT32. Det ser ut som wl500g har problemer med å lese partisjonstabellen din.

Du kan også teste med en usbkey hvis du har en. De fleste virker.

 

Med firmwaren jeg bruker kobler jeg opp disken til pc'n som en vanlig nettverks disk. (i exlorer->tools->Map Network Drive).

Jeg tror at med den firmwaren du har så må du bruke: Start->Run->tast inn \\192.168.1.1\

 

Og når du eventuelt får ting til å virke så skru på funksjonaliteten du vil ha en etter en, og test det før du skrur på mer.
