Skrevet 21. juli 2005 Forfatter Del Skrevet 21. juli 2005 Succesful Parade in Bay Ridge Thousands of people, with flags and bunads, joined the celebration of Norway’s Constitution Day in Brooklyn on May 16th. "I am very happy with the Parade," Chairman Sandy Ginsberg of the 17th of May Committee said. Stoltenberg Guest of Honor The organizers of the parade were nervous that the day’s guest speaker, Thorvald Stoltenberg, would not be able to make the parade in Bay Ridge on time. He flew in directly from Norway, and was scheduled to arrive at Newark just as the program was about to begin. "I made it," he said with a smile, before approaching the stand to give his May 17th speech. Stoltenberg, an esteemed Norwegian politician and diplomat, who currently serves as President of the Norwegian Red Cross, spoke in Leif Erikson Park in 1961, and said, "It’s not always that I am invited back, so I highly appreciate the fact that I was invited to come now." In his speech Stoltenberg spoke about the rebuilding of Norway after WWII, and his main message was that "without hope, there is no life." It was a personal and moving speech, and Leif Erikson Park was filled with a large crowd of people. Issue 21, May 26, 2004: Lenke til kommentar

L.. Skrevet 22. juli 2005 Forfatter Del Skrevet 22. juli 2005 Cooked just the way our grandmothers did... with a pinch of this and a dash of that! From our fish cakes to our holiday Sandkaker cookies, Nordic Delicacies is known throughout the country for our homemade products, made fresh everyday the old fashioned way. Using the same quality ingredients that many Scandinavians have used for years, the Bakke family makes each of these products by hand, in small batches, with the same care that our Scandinavian ancestors used decades ago.
