Which applications are you going to be using the laptop for?

Do you have any special criteria, like 2GB RAM, bigger HDD?

I think I would've taken option 2, definetly. Netshop is very trustable, lots of RAM, I don't know about the screen, but check the sticky guide for resolutions. Nice CPU, good GFX, TV Tuner, BlueTooth, bery good choice if you ask me.

Or, you could go for a PowerBook like I did :p

Thank you.

Netshop is a nice choice and it is almost the same as the one from Zepto.

2G memory is not necessary, but I like large memory :D

I considered buying a powerbook before, :dribble:

But I use PC for many year and am used to the operating system.

So I think I'd better buy a notebook not a Mac. :)

Yup, it's a bit scary to convert :D

But i've used Windows for 10 years and it went pretty smooth. Only takes sa day to get used to it, but the variety of sofware isn't so thriving with Mac, hehe.

If you wanna try out a Mac, a Mac Mini is a great choice.

Mac is not that scary. It´s really easy to use and switching is not so hard as many belive. If were you, i would go for the powerbook...

I know Mac is good

And I really like the wonderful design :dribble:

But if I want to play games and use a lot softwares,

I think a PC is better.

Maybe I will suggest my girl friend buy a powerbook/ibook :w00t:

hmmm...

if it is any help, i have a toshiba laptop, and that has been great

my uncle has mac, we allways "fight" about whats best , i think windows is the best...

mac have had lots of trouble, espesially with the Ipod(just for the record).

but mac may be good to, depends on what you are gona use the computer for, but keep in mind that u can get more software to windows than mac.

Games is the only thing there is few of to Mac, software is no problem. I don´t have any problems to find software to my use, and there are many programs for Mac who not excists for Windows, f.ex iPhoto, Keynote etc.

:D

But game is one important criteria for me.

Otherwise, I will not choose such a good graphic card

6600 cards should do the trick ;)

well...

i have many bad experiences with Mpx, i used to order form there, but not after the costumer care they showed me...

i bought a mainboard, graphics card and CPU from there...

the CPU and mainbord didnt work properly, and it took to long time to get new.

i also ordered a Shuttle barebon to use fot HTPC (home theatre pc) , allso this time the mainboard in the shuttle where broken, to get a new one this time took to long to

after this i started to order from PSdata wich have been great, i have ordered Chassis, (Tt kandalf), graphics card (ASUS GF 6800 series), and a HD, all those have been in good conditon, propperly packed(like mpx totally oversize the box´es, and pust loads of plastic air bags in it as well, wich is not neccesary btw)

so i wouldent ordered from MpX if i were you, i think the service there isn´t good enough

I will not buy from MPX

Although the price is very attractive :dribble:

hmm...

i would remove alternative A from my list, you get less RAM (mamory), and alternative B has all the same spect, but 512 mb more memory for allmost the same price ;)

so i would choose between alternative B or C

EDIT: gratZ with 20 replys fifiyu :)

Right now is a very bad time to buy a Mac. Apple is switching to Intel cpus, which means IBM PowerPC is dying and will be obsolete soon. :hm:

And when Apple switches over to Intel (GOD FORBID :nei: ) Mac machines are going to lose the incredible multitasking abilities that they've got with the PPC processors.

I'm actually going to frame my PowerBook when I buy my next PowerBook. I will then hang it up on the wall, and happily remember the good ol' days of the PPC... I consider myself lucky to buy myself a PowerBook before the x86 Mac revolution. Oh, my dear PowerBook
