My Sapphire Ati Radeon is too hot - why?

Hey!

 

I am norwegian, yes. But my friend is from U.K. and ill ask for him.

 

I would like answers in english so my friend can read it.

 

 

 

The problem is that his graphic card is too hot. His got a Sapphire Ati Radeon x800XT card, which is about 6 months old.

 

This evening it was at 86+c (grader).

 

His screensaver stopped and then the temp went down to around 60. (It didnt crash, but he wiggled the mouse so it closed)

 

 

Whats wrong?

kan ikke bare vi svare på norsk og du forklare hva vi har skrevet?

men uansett:

 

tell your friend to check if the fan on his graphiccard is working. if it is, tell him to clean out all the dust from the fan. if this dont work tell him to take of one of the chassis dors off. This will get better aircirculasion in his chassis. if the card still get to hot, installing a few chassis fans will help, or change the fan on the graphiccard

What kind of f*cked up screensaver is your friend using? It doesnt sound very "saving" on the graphics card.
