Hvis du skal teste mellom to maskiner, en server (eksempelvis router) og en klient (eksempelvis din laptop) kjører du denne på server:

iperf -s -w 65536 -p 12345 -I 5

så kan du kjøre disse på klient:

iperf -c <server> -w 65536 -p 12345 -t 60
iperf -c <server> -w 65536 -p 12345 -t 60 -d
iperf -c <server> -w 65536 -p 12345 -t 60 -P 4 

Du kan sikkert justere ned tiden til under 60 hvis du er utålmodig.

Med "make menuconfig" kan du enkelt konfigurere (drivere og funksjoner i) kernelen før kompilering. Du må ikke endre noe, bare sørg for at kernelen støtter maskinen din ;)

 

Merk at 3.0.1 er siste stabile versjon, 3.1 er fremdeles i RC.

 

Anbefaler kernelen som følger med distroen du bruker (hvis maskinvaren din er støttet såklart), fordelen med å bruke kernelen som følger med er at den er skikkelig testet og vil få sikkerhetsfikser*.

 

* Gjelder de fleste store distroer, men ikke alle.

Kei, jeg skal endelig sette opp stasjonærmaskina mi slik at jeg kan få tilgang til den fra laptopen og mobilen for å primært styre Spotify siden det er stasjonærmaskina som har den beste lyden i kåken. Filer og sånt fikser Ubuntu One, så det er null stress.

 

Hvilken løsning er den beste for dette? Jo mindre å tukle med, jo bedre.

Bah, jeg prøver bare å sette opp VNC nå for i kveld, så får vi se hvordan det går. Men faen: Jeg prøver å koble til maskinen fra android-slegga mi ved å dytte inn IP-adressa og portnummer (5900), men får bare VNC Connection Failed! No route to host. Jeg har prøvd å åpne port 5900 på maskina uten hell. Mistenker at det er routeren som trøbler det til for meg? :/ Har selvfølgelig ikke tilgang til den nå i kveld..
