Opium for massene....

Jaja..

Hello,

We would recommend the following advice for all players installing the 2.0.1 patch:

1. Remove Interface

2. Backup Screenshots

There are also the following known issues in 2.0.1:

3. Invisibility Crash

4. Unable to Validate Game Version

5. Repair tool disabled

We will update this thread as more things come to light.

Remove Interface

The 2.0.1 patch will have drastic effects on many mods that are in use. Because of this, please remove the WTF, WDB and Interface folders from the World of Warcraft directory before patching. This will cause WoW to recreate new folders when it discovers them missing. You can move this folders to the desktop to retain the data or rename the folders so that WoW doesn't fine them under these specific names.

After WoW patches it will create an Interface and WTF folder in the World of Warcraft directory and recreate the WDB folder within a new Cache folder.

Backup Screenshots

Players who are using a European Language Pack (ELP) to change the default language of their game may have their screenshots folder deleted when updating to patch 2.0.1, which is currently scheduled for release on December 6th. Any players using an ELP will need to back up their screenshots folder before patching to keep them from being deleted. You can find your screenshots folder in your World of Warcraft game directory (default: C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\Screenshots\). Players who have not used an ELP to change the default language of their game will not be affected by this issue.

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

Invisibility Crash

In the upcoming patch version 2.0.1, users with Pixel Shaders disabled may crash after drinking an invisibility potion or by other methods of granting invisibility such as using the Gnomish Cloaking Device trinket. Our developers are aware of this issue and will hopefully have this resolved as soon as possible. Until then, please enable all Pixel Shaders in your Video Options if you plan on becoming invisible within the game.

To enable Pixel Shaders:

1. Go into your Video Options in-game (Press "ESC" while in-game)

2. Make sure there is a check mark in the box next to Enable All Shader Effects

3. Click Okay

NOTE: Unfortunately, certain video cards may not support Pixel Shaders.

Here is an example of the error message you may receive after becoming invisible with Pixel Shaders disabled:

    Q u o t e:

    WoWBuild: 6180

    Local Zone: Warsong Gulch

    =========================================================

    Assertion Failed!

    App: /Applications/World of Warcraft/WoWTest/World of

    Warcraft.app

    File:

    Line: -2

    Error Code: 0x85100080

    Time: 2006-11-29 19.54.13 EST

Assertion: index (0x00000001), array size (0x00000000)

Unable to Validate Game Version

If you are receiving the error, "Unable to Validate Game Version" after patching, please try logging in and out with another Administrator user or profile for Windows, or creating a new Administrator account.

For those for whom making a new windows account does not work, try using the Run As command as follows:

Right click on your WoW icon.

Select "Run As..."

Select "The following user:"

Select your normal login, if you dont have one that you normally login with, it may appear as something like "Owner" for example.

Type in a password if applicable.

Click Ok.

If you're still experiencing this issue after trying the recommended steps, please try scanning your system for any possible Trojans. We have advice on this in our Sticky thread here:

Repair tool disabled

With the 2.0.1 patch, the Repair Tool is disabled until a new version can be released. If you try to run it, you will receive this error message:

"This verison of the Blizzard Repair does not support your World of Warcraft version 2.0.1.6180"

A new Repair Tool is planned to be released later this week.
