Kan man ha høyere defense en 490?

Feil, du kan ikke bli critta når du har 490 defense. Alltid 15% sjangse for å få crushing blow mot raid bosser, eneste som hjelper mot det er å ha shield block oppe konstant eller få seg miss+parry+dodge+block > 100%.

 

Og det dropper ingen epic BS plans fra instancer. Bare tailoring og enchanting afaik.

Hva syntes dere om det å spilel warrior for tiden?

 

Leser på wow warrior forum at folk klager og bærer seg over warrior nerf osv.

 

Men om jeg skal se på saken ut i fra egen erfaring så kan jeg egentlig ikke føle meg nerfet i det hele tatt. Jeg har mer rage nå enn jeg hadde pre-TBC, og stort sett har jeg for mye rage (Har endless rage).

 

Jeg er fremdeles på top i 5 mans grupper om jeg får være dps. Dette uten en eneste enchant på noe av gearet mitt. Jeg hiver det på når jeg har fått epic fly.

 

Eneste jeg kanskje har merket er at jeg mister aggro en smule fortere enn før om jeg tanker. Men heftig bruk av taunt (som jeg igrunnen alltid har brukt) fikser dette.

 

Jeg kjører da 41/15/5 spec eller noe i den dur....

Håper du har gjort matten din, for defense rating er fortsatt noe av det heftigste av avoidance du kan få tak i, post 490 def.

 

Edit: Tenkte jeg kunne publisere min lille "artikkel" for guildet som omhandlet avoidance og hvilken rating du skal gå for siden folk ser ut til å være i tvil:

 

Right, time to do some calculating on defense/parry/dodge rating!

 

Firstly, I hope this will help you out in choosing your gems for your kit, and what stats to go for in general, and what to avoid if you can choose.

 

1st rule: Balance your kit. Don't negate armor, don't negate stamina, don't negate avoidance, block or blockvalue. It all helps you mitigate more, increase healer uptime and decrease the stress level of your poor healers.

 

High armor is good for big blows mostly, whilst blockvalue shines when you got fast hitting mobs. Stamina is always good, avoidance relieves you of a few thousand damage each, and you really need a good mix to survive out there, and you've also got iffy stuff to take care of, like debuffing and mitigating, breaking fear AND accumulating effective threat on your target.

 

So on to the calculations!

 

1) Dodge rating: Approximately 18.9 dodge rating is needed for 1 % dodge.

2) Parry rating: Approximately 31.5 parry rating is needed for 1 % parry.

3) Defense rating: Approximately 2.364 defense rating is needed for 1 defense skill

     a) Dodge/Parry/Miss +0.04 % each skillpoint

     b) Dodge/Parry/Miss +0.04 % each skillpoint + Block +0.01% each skillpoint

     c) Dodge/Parry/Miss +0.04 % each skillpoint + Block +0.02% each skillpoint

     d) Dodge/Parry/Miss +0.04 % each skillpoint + Block +0.04% each skillpoint

 

(The avoidance value of Blocking differs greatly as incoming blows hit harder, just to get a perspective value)

 

Formulas for avoidance gained per rating, where rating = X:

 

 Trunc X*.423 = Def Skill (Trunc = rounded downwards to the nearest whole number, as you'll only get 3 Def Skill for 9 Defense Rating, even though it technically adds up to 3.81 Def Skill. This is because the skill moves in integers)

2)   (1/31.5)X
3)a) ((Def skill)/25)3
  b) ((Def skill)/25)3+(((0.01)Def skill)
  c) ((Def skill)/25)3+(((0.02)Def skill)
  d) ((Def skill)/25)4

 

The defense rating formula may look odd, but it works:

 

3 Defense Rating = 1 Defense Skill (Actually 1.27, but it moves in integers, as said before)

3)a) ((1)/25)3                       = 0.12 %
  b) ((1)/25)3+(((0.01)1)            = 0.13 %
  c) ((1)/25)3+(((0.02)1)            = 0.14 %
  d) ((1)/25)4                       = 0.16 %

 

So let's put in a random value to see how it benefits your avoidance:

 

Rating = 100 (Def skill = 42)

1)   (1/18.9)100                           = 5.29 % avoidance  (1st place)
2)   (1/31.5)100                           = 3.18 % avoidance  (3rd place)
3)a) ((42)/25)3                            = 5.04 % avoidance  (2nd place)
  b) ((42)/25)3+((0.01)42)                 = 5.46 % avoidance  *
  c) ((42)/25)3+((0.02)42)                 = 5.88 % avoidance  *
  d) ((42)/25)4                            = 6.72 % avoidance  *

* Better then dodge, but differs by how big your incoming blows are, and differs by a lot.

 

As you can see, Defense rating is most effective, if Block does give a relative decrease in incoming damage. Dodge rating comes in front of Defense Rating if you don't negate any significant amount of damage while blocking. Parry rating is just laughable at the moment and desperately needs a buff if you ask me. It's the most expensive evasion stat, and is 67% more expensive then dodge (assuming 1 Dodge Rating has the same cost as 1 Parry Rating - this theory being further reinforced by the Parry/Dodge Rating gems, which tick out at 8 rating each)

 

It's one of the key elements that differentiates druids and warriors when it comes to tanking along with blocking, but we have to spend 67% more on Parry Rating to get the same avoidance as we would've gotten with Dodge Rating. You do get benefits from parrying, as it shaves off some time till your next autoattack hits, but it won't make or break anything, because it's too minor. You also can't be overpowered through parrying, but dodge will trigger it - but then again, no bosses thus far have the overpowering ability, and since warriors and druids base their survivability on dodge at the moment, I don't see it coming either.

 

To sum it up for the lazy ones:

 

Defense Rating ~ Dodge Rating > Parry Rating

 

Now I hope you learnt some about what gems to choose, what gear to equip, and what stats to look for in your tanking gear.
