During his five-day audition at Black House, Lawrence was given the opportunity of a lifetime. On Lawrence's second day there, the fighters were stretching before the morning workout when Silva and his trainers strolled in.

 

"He comes over to me and speaks in Portuguese and then goes and gets his head gear," Lawrence said.

 

Lawrence picked up on the cue and realized he was about to swap leather with a man he's idolized.

 

Once the gloves were on, Silva grabbed him by the shoulder and pulled him into the middle of the cage. The bell soon rang.

 

"I remember looking across right before the trainer said go, and I thought, 'Man, what am I doing?'" Lawrence said.

 

But instinct took over. Lawrence knew he had to move and stay outside or Silva would pick him apart. Lawrence recalls the session started light and, as the round wore on, the pace picked up. By the time there was a minute left, they were banging. Silva fired a shot that stopped Lawrence in his heels.

 

"He threw a two- or three-punch combination and I kind of faded back, and here came a huge roundhouse (kick) to my face," Lawrence said. "I caught the wind of it, and it caught the cage next to me. I thought 'wow.' I didn't see it coming. I honestly think he pulled it because he could have taken my head off with it."

 

Lawrence went two rounds with Silva. He came away with a bloody nose, but also the champion's respect.

 

"He came up and said, 'You are part of a family now. You are considered a brother. Come here and train whenever you want,'" Lawrence said. "I got chills."

Det som menes her er at Rampage whiner på UFC fordi han taper, og i stedet for å si at han gir opp MMA, så peker han fingre på ufc...

Noen som har giddet å se det "norges beste fighter", utover første episode?

Er det verdt å titte videre på eller holder det samme flaue nivå?

Tror det blir bedre etter hvert. Så langt har det stort sett vært utøvere uten noen meritter, inkludert noen som har trent kampsport i ett år, uten full-kontakt-trening! Skjønner ikke hva de gjør i konkurransen. Når de med europa-/verdenstitler havner i buret, blir det nok bedre!

Yahoo! Sports initially reported the UFC's offer of Rua to Jackson, and the matchup was confirmed tonight during an episode of "UFC Tonight." The bout is targeted for the summer, though a specific date has yet to be announced

 

According to "UFC Tonight," Jackson will be released from the UFC after he fights Rua. The pair fought seven years ago in the now-defunct PRIDE Fighting Championships. Rua won by first-round TKO, though Jackson later said he wasn't fit to fight and expressed desire for a rematch.
