Smoothwall & FTP

Anbefalte innlegg

------------------------------------------------

Scenario1

FTP server (192.168.100.200) is connected to ORANGE (192.168.100.100).

Smoothie is set to redirect RED NIC:Port XXX to FTP server (192.168.100.200:21). Exterternal Services is set on Port XXX. So far so good. I connect to the FTP server (Serv-U) with no problems, even use SSL just for fun. I connect to the FTP from GREEN by typing FTP server DMZ IP (192.168.100.200), in short, I go directly GREEN->DMZ. Problem is that connections from RED are not connected, due to the fact I forgot to put FTP server in passive mode. So this brings me to my next challange, Scenario2.

Scenario2.

I set the FTP server to passive mode; connects to the RED IP:Port 2121 for connection approval and services. Port range passive is set to 2121. So far so good again(!). People through RED can connect, but me, GREEN, can not connect. Because the FTP is connected passive to RED (redirects all requests to RED:Port 2121), and MacGuyvers period stated that GREEN->RED->DMZ doesn't work. So know I give FTP access to RED users, while GREEN users can't access.

Scenario3

In Serv-U I create another FTP domain, on port 666. This is not set to passive -> RED. So I can conncet to it just as the first FTP domain stated in Scenario1. So in Scenario3, I combine a Scenario1 server with a Scenario2 server, giving me 2 FTP servers on the same IP, just different ports. So one server for RED request, and one for GREEN, but they both share the same folders.

My question is, am I the only one that has had problems with this. Any other solutions are appreciated.

edit: skrivefeil, vi vil vel ikke ha en slik diskusjon igjen  ?
