Goodall Skrevet 26. september 2004 Del Skrevet 26. september 2004 Test catalyst 4.10 dette virker jo bra for ATI sin del dette med AI Driver Optimizations This is the big one. The only game in the new driver where the application is detected and a significant shader change happens. We're happy to report that the shader trick—using math to calculate a value instead of reading the precomputed value from a look-up texture—does not impact visual quality at all. ATI has already made decent strides in Doom 3 performance since Catalyst 4.7, but the performance difference is greater here. The Radeon 9800 XT makes only modest gains at these high resolutions and visual quality settings, but the X800 XT really takes a leap. At 1280x1024 with 2XAA and 4XAF, the game runs a little bit slower with Catalyst AI off than it does with the current 4.9 drivers. Turn it on, and performance jumps 12–17%. This puts ATI's top-of-the-line within spitting distance of nVidia's. Remember, though, that this is comparing next month's ATI drivers against the already-available set from nVidia, and newer ForceWare drivers may tip the balance again. Lenke til kommentar
