Det ser ut til at HP/Oracle har jukset litt der ja:

The Itanium servers performed roughly on-par with the x86 servers, but did so with only ~$40,000 worth of storage hardware (hard disks + enclosures) vs. ~$90,000 worth of storage hardware for the x86 servers.  The result is a much better $/tpmC ratio.

Half the Storage was not the only trick HP/Oracle pulled in this submission. They use the Standard Edition of the database SW. The Standard Edition is more than 10 times cheaper than the Enterprize Edition used in the other submissions.

I have no idea if Standard Edition is good enough in real world, but even if it is the price/perf comparison vs other boxes is not apple-2-apple.
