memorex dvd locked at zone 1

Is there anyone out there who knows how to unluck memorex dvd maxx 1240 and perhaps make it zone free? I'm hopeless with these kind of things, som please help!

DVDGenie is useless if the player has been "permanetly" locked....by changing region five times on most DVD-ROM players will lock it to the last region...then only way is to enter the magic world of the DVD-ROM's flash bios :wink:

this won't work if his dvd is locked to one region.

 

Go to this adress:

-> DVD

 

-> then search for Memorex or scroll down

 

There you will find a firmware that should be RPC1, that is RegionFree...

 

a firmwareupgrade is not done without any risk, but it should work. I've never had this DVD-player, so I don't know how it works, but that page helped me...
